Hello Kate, I live in N. Ireland but have been motor homing all over the whole Ireland. There are a number of great sites both North and South. Ireland has excellent roads so your visit will be great.

Great advice, Kat. We did Galway and Connemara last summer and it was really beautiful. You can stay and sleep in Galway cathedral carpark overnight. One couple, I met had stayed there a couple of nights. Just give a donation to the cathedral.

Hi Kat. Great tips and advice as always. We too are our own worst enemy for always cramming too much into one trip, and just about get away with it, but feel we need another holiday after a roadtrip. We loved the comment about travel in Cornwall 😆. Deb and Dave

Totally agree with the pinpointing places to visit. I covered the Wild Atlantic Way last May/June - much too quickly. From Kinsale in the south to Muff near Derry in 3 1/2 weeks. I stayed off-grid for 6 nights only. Plenty of sites along to way, calling 24 hours before with no problem. I am sure you will have Martin Dorey's 'Slow Road to Ireland', which I found brilliant. Have a great trip.😃

Hello Kat, firstly thanks for all your informative videos of which Ive watched heaps. Ive just watched the one about the NC500 and its prompted me to ask your opinion. My husband and I are New Zealanders and we are picking up a new motorhome from Perthshire on 24th July. We are away and travelling in the motorhome for 6 months and our plan (not booked) is to do about 6 weeks in Scotland, then make our way down through England for 6 weeks, crossover to France and travel down to Northern Spain and Portugal for the allowed 90days. So…this puts us in Scotland for August which I believe is the dreaded school holiday busy time! Do you have a suggestion of where would be the least busy for motorhome travel during August (anywhere in Scotland or England). Because we have quite a bit of time we can be flexible. We dont return to NZ until 25th Jan 2024. Any opinion or suggestions would be so gratefully received. We really dont like busyness or crowds..and intend to mainly use CL sites or CAMC club sites. (We did this in 2019 so are pretty familiar with the system etc ) Many thanks Vicki

Great tips as planning a trip now - complete newbie! Where do I get the planner? Also I’m from Ireland. Looking at your map stops, assuming you arrive in to Dublin, might be worth visiting those two places north of Dublin first…motorway from Dublin approx 90 mins then come back and proceed down the east coast. Re the West of Ireland, I’d advise you to spend more time there. This time of the year it’ll be empty and so gorgeous…akin to Cornwall from what I’ve heard of it.

There are no legal rules for private vehicles. But don’t drive tired!
