Road Work in the Central Business District : Biking New Orleans

I attempted to ride up Poydras St in the Central Business District to the Superdome and Arena, but road work persuaded me to try other routes. Unfortunately, it seemed, every alternate street I took was also blocked by road work. The city is in the middle of making the itself presentable for the 2025 NFL Super Bowl in an attempt to market the city to investors for much needed additional revenue.

Lo que encontré en Internet: "El nombre 'Tchoupitoulas' proviene de la palabra choctaw hạcha-pit-itula, que puede significar "aquellos que viven en el río". Se refiere a los Chapitoulas, una tribu nativa americana que vivía a lo largo del río Mississippi en Luisiana. La aldea de la tribu se llamaba côte des Chapitoulas en los siglos XVIII y XIX". Sabía que el origen de los Tchoupitoulas era nativo americano, pero no conocía los detalles hasta ahora. 🍉☮💜💚💛✊

El gobierno está gastando millones para hacer que la ciudad esté presentable para el campeonato de fútbol americano de la NFL a principios de 2025, un juego de niños jugado por adultos sobrepagados, similar a los juegos en el colesium romano para distraer y apaciguar a la multitud. No sé si tienen la frase en Argentina, "ponerle lápiz labial a un cerdo", que significa tratar de hacer que algo feo parezca agradable al aplicarle una fina capa embellecedora superficial. Antes de que decidiera cambiar el título del video, "Ponerle lápiz labial a un cerdo" era el nombre original. La ciudad sufre un deterioro de la infraestructura que está causando inundaciones, cortes de electricidad y, a veces, agua no potable, todo lo cual afecta negativamente a sus ciudadanos, pero la ciudad está tratando de atraer inversores externos para aumentar los ingresos de la ciudad haciéndola parecer superficialmente atractiva. 💙🤍🌞🤍💙✊

How much you should spend on a bike lock depends on what your needs are. If your looking for a lock to secure your bike for a few minutes while, for instance you're in a coffee shop or the grocery store, a $15-30 dollar lock will give a potential thief second thoughts about try to steel your bike. I have a $15 dollar lock which I carry with me on my bike rides. If you are going to leave your bike outdoors and/or unattended often or repeatedly for several hours, like overnight on the street or the porch outside your house or apartment, you'll want to get a very good lock which will not allow the average thief to cut through the chain/lock or pick the lock. The more expensive your bike, the better the investment on spending more on the lock. There are several informative videos on KZbin on how to choose a bike lock and price.
