Took me three months for my left hip to get used to the clutch! First trip to Scotland required the use of a pillow lol. I even asked the specialist if it was supposed to be that heavy. Don't notice anymore until I get into the bug and nearly rip the pedal off.

Yeah, it surprised me how heavy it was. Reminded me of the clutch in a Lotus Elise!

djambrosia no complaints my friend it is a great workout for your quadriceps especially in traffic

A Boxster's clutch is considered heavy? I guess it's just feather light for me when comparing it to the clutch on my friend's Mustang GT. It is certainly heavier than the clutch on a Suzuki Alto kei car I drove around for a while

My car had the M030 suspension and Eibach anti roll bars and personally I found it too unforgiving on my local roads. I've just fitted standard springs, Koni FSD dampers but for now have kept the roll bars. Not had chance to try them yet though as a timing chain tensioner has started leaking oil 🙄. Getting it fixed and alignment done tomorrow so fingers crossed...

Good to hear from someone else with the M030. I thought it could possibly be too much for the road but haven't tried it yet. It is quite special on the track though. Let me know how the new dampers and springs work out.

Road and Race I guess the other thing to consider is that everybody has their own subjective threshold of what is acceptable....

Alignment now done although I'm giving the springs and dampers time to settle/bed in before commenting. However, I do believe the Eibach anti roll bars may be overkill for my use. They're considerably thicker than M030. The car does corner well... The downside is that poor/badly undulating roads seem to unsettle the rear of the car at times and make it 'jiggle' from side to side, possibly because the suspension isn't allowed to be as 'independent'. Second hand roll bars, possibly from an 'S' may be the next move.

thanks for another porsche video. the short shifter makes massive difference on how the gears in the manual feel. i have the same soft pedal with new brake fluid n pads i am wondering why...
@RoadandRacetv7 жыл бұрын
I got rid of the soft pedal with a combination of a pressure bleeder and pumping the brake pedal after bleeding each caliper. I've a video on brake bleeding that may help?
@RoadandRacetv7 жыл бұрын
Saying that, do you have the PSM option? You need the Durametric software to cycle the ABS pump to bleed the system properly.
@cosboc57197 жыл бұрын
Road and Race i do have the PSM option (should be standard) i was not aware of that. maybe changing the master cylinder like you did could help.

Brake feel is something I've been playing with. The pads that came with the car when I bought it were frankly rubbish on the street. No confidence. Then I got a pair of pagid rs14s for the front and the difference was significant. Great bite on the street when cold and no fade that o could notice at Abingdon. But they were very noisy and were chewing at the discs at an alarming rate. Now I'm on ferodo ds2500 on the front and it appears to be a great compromise. Will test at abingdon soon. Any plans to return in the short term?
