After we have already introduced the new 2021 Merida Reacto, the aero bike from Merida, here comes the light, elegant and race-proven Merida Scultura. The video was made when Alan Dumić built the Scultura for Mikel Landa. Now the bike may already be in use at the Tour de France, where Mikel Landa wears the race number 61. In Bahrain McLaren design it is for many the most beautiful bike of all World Tour Team Bikes. Watch the video and make up your own mind.
Bilde Dir selbst Deine Meinung.

Why didn't use rim brake, it lighter than disc brake. Disc brake isn't guarantee to anti slip at wet road.
@matthi2358
@matthi2358 3 жыл бұрын
the weight is not a problem on pro bikes anymore because it is now easy to build a 6.8kg bike with disc brakes. and of course disc brakes have better performance at both dry ad wet roads
@davianlomboan2397
@davianlomboan2397 3 жыл бұрын
He is right about disc brakes slipping on wet roads. I own both rim and disc brake bikes, with all honesty i opt the rim brake bike more. Rim brakes are lighter, aero, better tolerances, cheap, and easy to maintain. I agree with him saying that disc brakes causes slipping/skidding on wet roads, because with 25c road tires there isn't enough traction and friction to stop the bike properly with that much stopping power. I mean think about it, when the surface is wet and a bike brake using disc brakes, the bike would just skid and not stop due to a light frame that's too light and too much stopping power. Mtbs are more advanced in the world of disc brakes because they are heavy and have wide ass tires, they also have more friction thus stopping easily on dry or wet surfaces. In physics they teach us that a lighter person (6.8 kg disc brake road bike) would slide further on ice (wet asphalt) compared to a heavier person (heavy mtb, gravel, xc bike) when equal force (braking) is applied. With that I'd say that rim brakes are the way to go for performance road racing.

I’m enjoying the bike so far kzbin.infoUgkxMesz3KOGEmwmvyKQfLfrRSUXLFzfVHZA My only real complaints are the brakes and the pedals. I feel like a bike designed for bigger people should have much larger pedals and more heavy duty brakes. I’ve only gotten two really good rides out of it, minimal downhill action, and the brakes feel like they’re already going out. A larger person has more momentum, so I think this wasn’t thought through very well. Also, I wear size 13-14 wide shoes. My feet cramp up on these pedals that are clearly made for smaller feet. Since I’m not a pro rider (and I don’t think many are who purchase this bike) I don’t think that the straps on the pedal are necessary at all. None of this takes away from the enjoyment I get from riding, however. I’ll just head to a bike shop to improve on a few things.
