Since I'm trying to enjoy the ride more than flipping data screens, I have 10 datafields on the main screen, map on second screen. Time, elapsed time, current speed, average speed, current cadence, average cadence, distance, current heart rate, calories burned, and beers earned. All very important to me! :)

Other than training, I'm riding ironmans. I like to ride to heart rate, but it's not good to just stare at it as that makes it rise :) so I ride to perceived effort and check it occasionally. Current speed is nice to know as I'm aware of the current gradient/wind and I have targets based on that. Time and distance I look at as I do have 'targets' to meet, which I guess is similar to avg speed but more geared towards the particular course, e.g. Arizona is (slightly) uphill out, downhill back. It's only slight, but try to maintain your avg speed going out and you'll be dead for the run :)

Hi folks, any ideas on where I can find a user manual for the standard spin cycle computer on a Vortex V1000. The cycle is simple enough but do you think I can find a settings manual so I can change the screen settings to KM/H instead of miles.

Elderly. Follow others when it rains. Stay rubber side down or stop. Power meter, surely you jest!

how blind are you to only be able to handle 5 datascreens?

do you mean 5 data fields? often that's plenty, depends what you're doing...
