heroscape came out when I was like, ten maybe, and I think it cemented my love of the Miniature world. Like, it got me interested in dnd mini’s, which led into the actual game, and I’m only interested in Warhammer/Hordes/insert-miniature-war-game has to be heroscape. But nothing quite captures that childlike charm of this game. It’s just so flashy, and honestly a kids dream. What child doesn’t wanna see the army man fight a dragon . . .but there’s also robots and zombies. It was just the perfect storm at the perfect time for me. I’ll never get over this damn game

Thanks for posting. I watched the video totally confident that you would be giving a thumbs up. If you had not, I should have...been vexed. Love, love, love, love Heroscape. Buy a base set, maybe some extra tiles and make or proxy anything else... I will not pay £100+ for three or four plastic toy soldiers. Join Heroscapers, and you have a lifetime for exploring the game. I doubt it will ever be reprinted and if they did they would find a way to make all existing collections obsolete. With practice you can set up, play and tear down in a single day. Sorry, I am gushing.

Hasbros biggest error with this and all the other big IPs they own is trying to create crossovers. If I wanted to play MtG I’d play MtG…I don’t need D&D themed Heroscape. I would’ve just played D&D4e… Heroscape charm is that it stood on its own. It was unique.

Squads are fun, cause one can control multiple units easily. Downside (especially with customs) one needs loads!^^ History was troubled, being handed around. I'll mix core units with D&D. Marvel doesn't really fit, but also not enough to play solely:( And I agree about the reprint (3d printers, come on), but whart I really don't get, is why isn't there a virtuell version yet? Would diminish the upkeep? And still so much to add to, too... Terraforming abillities? Brazin' Bollocks;o)

Rise of the Valkyrie to start as it’s the cheapest one. Then go from there based on what you can afford. I made my own terrain as you can see in the video and it works really well. A combination of the plastic pieces being too expensive to make and the stores being frustrated with having to buy packs unique packs that didn't sell well alongside the common ones that did. From the sounds of things, they're being careful to fix some of these problems, but the game might be more expensive this time as part of the trade off (especially given 12 years of inflation and a currently bad economy).
