Love roadmaster, lived in Indianapolis for 60 years, now down here in Houston. I still listen to them, and turned way up.

I produced Mac McNally back around 1983 as I recall in L.A. in a band called "Heartbreak Kid" that included the ex Exile drummer Bobby Johns. Loved Mac's voice.

These guys are simply a jewel that the national rock audience will never know. Wrote all their own songs and had unparalleled talent. I bought all their albums back in the day and still love the sound of their music !

Going to Indiana University in the late 70s was magical! What a fantastic era. Roadmaster was a big part of that. Their first album was truly unreal, one of the best albums ever made! Rick Benick was a big influence to me as a guitar player. My favorite track off that incredible album was Sunala Jones!

Roadmaster and I go back to the White House in Niles, MI and the Pure Funk band. Peru, Kokomo, Wabash, Indianapolis, Bloomington, Muncie, and even Somerset IN, go way back with Rick and 'the Boys'. I was just a fan over the years, who came to know many in the band. Rest easy, Ricky. you did a good thing.

A fabulous band from the 1970s-80s. Loved them during my days at Indiana University and thereafter. Who can sing like Fat Boy do? The MIGHTY Adam Smasher! Thanks so much for doing this and putting it on KZbin. GREAT memories.

Thanks so much for posting this. For a lot of us growing up in Bloomington IN these guys were IT. Such a nice thing to do for Rick. Not just the benefit but for him to get the chance to wail with his old band friends one more time..

p.s. Ricky was a huge inspiration when I was a kid (and a budding guitarist) to go play music... To this day, I still do. Thanks for making this possible.
