That sort of logic does leave you scratching your head doesn't it? I got pulled over for not using a turn signal at 11:30 at night on a road with less than 3 cars in sight, none of which was close enough to even care and ended up with tickets for a crack in my windshield, not wearing my seat belt, a reverse light that was burned out, and expired driver's license, not revoked mind you, just a couple months past it's renewal date, and driving without shoes on! I didn't even know they could site you for something like that! this was a cop who was given weekly swirlies in the bathroom at school growing up and still has never touched a naked girl other than his mommy or sister! Many years ago I was in a head-on collision while turning left and didn't see the little Dodge Colt bolting thru the intersection SB on White Bear Ave & Hudson Road in St. Paul, MN. My 1972 LTD wagon sustained little damage but the Colt was totalled and I felt bad for his wife who was trying to light a cigarette and her head broke the windshield. I was ticketed for failure to yield ROW and since the cop insisted it was my fault, I went along with it. That accident bothered me for years and one day I finally took the time to analyze it and found it it was NOT my fault, but the fault of the Colt's driver. A large moving truck was facing me and was turning left to go east on Hudson RD, I was trying to go west on Hudson Rd. Since White Bear Ave has no turn lanes you make left turns from the fast lane. The Colt was approaching the moving truck from behind and illegally made a lane shift over a solid line and ran into me. Oh well, too late to do anything about it now. I often wondered why the driver of that Colt wasn't very upset about the wreck, now I know why. He knew it was his fault but let me take the blame for it...typical "Minnesota Nice", huh? I drove my winter-beater LTD a few more years and retired the old gal. Was a great car, even drove it to Florida the next year. It just kept on running and was still good to go when I gave it to the junk man, that was when the passenger door fell off from years of rusting in Minnesota and my wife told me to get rid of it :-(

I’d be more willing to believe excessive speed was the cause of the accident if the car with the dash cam managed to make 3/4 of their turn and was struck in the rear/side of the car. But instead you see them pull out and their front end scrapes the “speeding” car, which means the cause of the crash is most likely you not paying attention, assuming the other car would yield for you, or just trying to shoot through a gap in traffic that wasn’t really there.

Once advice for 'new drivers' - you know the speedlimit thing? yeah, it's a LIMIT. not a required speed to reach when in that area. There's no legal 'minimum speed' in traffic. you just have to keep the traffic flow going without causing issues. Cuz if there's a bit pileup-style slow-move on a highway, it's not like that's illegal. the traffic is just going slow even tho it's a 110 kph limit road.

Road rage really brings out the worst in people. Saw an unnecessary confrontation today that could've been easily avoided with a little patience. 😑

38:28 Bit of advice: if your car is at all movable, don't leave in the middle of a dark desert highway for some truck driver to smash into.

@@SaltyWatermelon436 There she parked on the highway I think she might be slow And I was thinking to myself "what the hell?" Then she got on her cell phone And called 911 Because I smashed into her car Because she parked in the roaaadd Plenty of room to park on the fuckin shoulder Don't leave your car right there, don't leave your car right there

"Guy doesn't know how to merge" No, you don't know how to drive.

Honestly without more video you can't tell, likely there was a wide open lane behind the cammer to merge onto

Yeah you're definitely supposed to just pull out into oncoming cars, and everyone is just supposed to stop in the freeway for you🤦♂️

@@ramba9816 You are under no obligation to let someone into the lane you're traveling in. If no one lets you over, you have to yield. You absolutely do not pull out in front of moving cars, impeding traffic.
@ramba98163 жыл бұрын
@@crashman27 @CrashMan27 I looked it up and in almost every state you are correct and I stand corrected. That is still no excuse for trying to cut someone off in heavy traffic with no gaps. You can't also expect the merge lane to just stop because you didn't want to move or slow down when no one is going anywhere anyway. That just makes traffic worse for everyone.

so So SO many examples of why you need a dashcam these days! Worth its weight in gold when the other drivers blame you, you end up paying your deductible because insurance "negotiates" fault, etc. Get one!
