@@kevinwilliams2275 Man you really have some research to do dude! Haha. The CTS and CTS-V were discontinued after 2019 so if you're gonna buy one new you have to buy a 2019 now before they're gone. Same thing with the ATS, ATS-V and the CT6. The CT6-V with the Blackwing was only available in 2019 for the last production year of the CT6. The CTS and ATS respectively have been replaced with the new CT5 and CT4. Each of those cars were released with V versions, although the V versions are now technically the old "V-Sport" trims from the CTS and ATS as the CT4V and CT5V are equipped with tuned I4 and V6 engines. The replacement for the old V trims are coming soon and will be called the CT4 V-Blackwing and CT5 V-Blackwing. Still, to add to the confusion, neither will have the actual blackwing engine, they'll both have tuned versions of the engines from the outgoing CTS V and ATS V. These dudes acted like they were SCARED to state the obvious. What is it with these auto media guys? Are they afraid of not being invited to drive future German models if they tell the truth? For $71k it was a no brainer to pick the ATS-V as the winner. The M3 interior looks like it belongs in a $25k Mazda model. Also, the ATS-V has real carbon fiber trim, not imitation trim as the one guy suggested when he was bashing the ATS interior. The funny thing about criticizing the glossy trim in the ATS is that there is similar trim offered on the center console of the C class on some models- this test car just happened not to have it.
@MaliciousSRT9 жыл бұрын
+Sheth Jones I'll let you in on the honest truth why - Mercedes and BMW spoil auto journalists so much, and if they give their cars a bad review they will not invite them back. When I say spoil, I mean things like fully paid trips to exotic race tracks and locations to review their cars - and if you don't follow up with a glowing positive review, you are black listed. Many gave the Mercedes CLA amazing reviews, but "off the record" admit that the car is a half baked and extremely over priced piece of shit that is no better than a Kia. Look it up...
@shethjones44949 жыл бұрын
+Malicious SRT interesting concept there. I guess they feel domestic brands are desperate for press coverage and will not omit them from product launches regardless of how the vehicles are reviewed. I definitely find it interesting that so few are willing to tell the truth about things such as the basic looking interior on the 3 series. The bar is so much higher for American brands.
@MaliciousSRT9 жыл бұрын
Sheth Jones Domestic companies deal with it and don't care (free country, free speech) but the journalists (and I use that term loosely, 95% are just hacks) are usually from north America and like the free trips to Europe and other exotic places, as its their only opportunity to travel - as those jobs pay next to nothing. There is an article about it on truth about cars...cars they say they like for trips or something like that, MB was #1.

"When you see a car comparo with more dislikes with 'BMW' in its title, you know the BMW lost" The E46 was really the last driver-oriented 3 series. The E90 had a sublime V8 but lacks torque & has laughably bad brakes. The F80 M3 no longer has a unique engine enjoyed by all previous M3s and sounds like crap (the fact an M-car has sound symposers is an utter sin, at least Cadillac is honest about this). Also, the M3 now is beaten in chassis dynamics by both Cadillac & Mercedes, both brands historically more known for their comfy luxo-cruisers than scalpel-sharp sports sedans. How the might have fallen... You have to be the biggest tool to say the M3 is a better sports sedan than the C63 AMG-S or the ATS-V. The C63 beats in day-to-day luxury & practicality while the ATS-V can ring rings around the M3 on the track & autocross.

The car that should be compared to is the CTS-V and also I'm not going to even watch this video but I can tell they probably will mock the caddy because they are putting 2 german cars against the american one. When easily it's supposed to be rs4 vs these 2 german rivals but yet they decide to randomly put an american sedan in a smaller class to compete. Funny how they don't put up a hellcat charger against these or even a stinger I think might be competition. It's also funny how they would put sport sedan because if they put these against new generation mustangs and camaro's they would be just shamed to hell for getting destroyed by the muscle cars that "only go in a straight line". What are the lap times on a nurburgring for m3 and c63? I don't think its close to 7:16 which a zl1 camaro is putting out.

+hotlesbianassassin But what else are we suppose to do while the earth spins around the sun. We choose our teams (preferences) and then we argue about nonsense because it makes the time go by. Just like this video, just like politics, just like ... well you get the point :) But you are on the money that the difference is small but the perceived difference in my humble opinion is big. And the sales figures show that every time. So GM needs to get the shit together and start thinking about the comfort and not just 0.1s difference in 0-60. Because only internet warriors get their undies wet in Lacs of recent age.

At 16:00 why on earth would he have expected the merc to be the most civilized on track? Is this guy a beginner? In the Merc vs BMW rivalry it's always been known that the BMW is the precise, balanced car and the Merc is the overpowered, sideways-going hooligan's car. AMG's are not known to be civilized on track.

Lets face it, BMW has gone a bit soft around the edges and Mercedes has tightened up in the all around performance area. Now we have Cadillac coming in and pushing the ride, steering, handling, and total performance aspect. As well as edgy design. Regardless of your preference, competition is good for everyone. It raises the bar and makes for better cars. Be happy!!

Its actual carbon fiber in the Cadillacs interior. It would be one thing for Fat Jon Snow to ding the Cadillac for cheap knock off materials if it actually had them....And while the CUE system certainly lags behind the other cars tested, its not nearly as terrible as everyone makes it out to be. Once you get familiar with the system, its very easy to use. Plus, with Apple CarPlay added, 90% of my inputs are via Siri, which works flawless. The complaints about the gauge cluster are well founded, they have no business being in a $70k sports sedan competing with BMW'S and AMG's. With that said, majority of my time looking at the panel is focused on the integrated information screen which makes the dogshit cluster a bit more bearable.

I really like a V8 for this kind of money though, I am old school. Also, any car that under steers is shit or is a prius. I track my cars a few times a year. Well this is crap, the bimmer was drag raced by a novice. Evidently a biased/sponsored review, considering the time wasted talking about the caddy, and its tasteless boxiness. Sorry to burst your bubble roadshow, but the caddy is nothing special when placed alongside the bimmer or merc. The bimmer is definitely the most aggressive, with both the front bumper and rear diffuser, as well as the hood, then the merc's clean and subtly, but surely, styled front and rear end. The ATS-V just looks like an uprated ford focus inside (seriously, what is with those stupid trapezoidal air vents?); the bimmer, admittedly, isn't too posh, although it has a driver-focused, wraparound concept with one of the best steering wheels out there; the merc is the best looking by a fair bit, especially with the front seat design, and optional designo interior(s). Moving on to the talk about handling, there is no way that the cadillac could be better than the bimmer. That's absurd, I mean, just because you're American, you want American cars to mean something, and the video is sponsored, doesn't mean you have to lie. The bimmer is like a scalpel, as so accurately put by one of the presenters; the merc, not near there yet, but fun because of the throwability of the rear end and the sound of the V8; the ATS, not really sure, it handles cleaner than the merc, but is still awkward, and still not near the bimmer. I'll leave the track section alone, apart from saying that it helps to know the track, then how to drive a car on the track. The comment about the M3 looking like a standard 3 series is completely ridiculous. The ATS has a revised bumper, grill, bonnet and rear diffuser, when compared to the standard ATS, and a bootlip spoiler, but that's the extent of the difference. The M3 is lowered, has a new bumper, fenders, side panels, rear diffuser, bonnet, grilles, roof, and the little bootlid spoiler, but you know, it looks like a 320i right? The merc has a lot of changes to differentiate it from the standard c200, like the new bumper, grill, revised side panels, flared wheel arches, rear diffuser, and bootlip spoiler (again). I don't understand the supposed 'sagginess' of the merc's rear end, it's lower, more aggressive; then the bottom third is more aggressively styled and pronounced than on the other (c class) models. Finally, I'm going to bash the stupid cost argument: the C63 starts at $66k in the US (C63s at $73k), the M3 at $63.5k and the cadillac at $60.5k, so there's no $30k difference, only if you decide to personalise your car more. Additionally, just by doing a fairly standard build on the ATS, I got it up to $80k, same sort of build on the C63 to $84k ($91k on the C63s), and on the M3 $81k, so there's not so much disparity, right? Fun fact #1: the componentry of the M3 is 80% different/new when compared to any other 3 series (but it looks like a standard 3 series don't forget) Fun fact #2: the 'huge' 3-pointed star in the centre of the C63's grille actually means something! With mercs, the more luxurious models have the emblem raised up off the bonnet, like on the mercedes-maybach s600 for example, whilst the sportier models have the emblem in the grille, as seen on the C63, E63, A45, CLS63, etc. (sorry, it's not used for posing off)

You forgot Cadillac handles the best and has the best balance, get the best MPG, is the most reliable, is quite a bit faster than the BMW and is also faster than the C63 S according to Motor Trend, and may in fact be the best handling 4 door car ever made. Oh, and it's the cheapest too.
@ohgodwhy8 жыл бұрын
Vernon Price I highly doubt the cadillac handles best. Check any non american review and it's not even regarded in the same context as the other two. Neither does it have the heritage/pedigree of the other two. If you pull up in cadillac no ones going to care. In fact I struggle to find a review that compares the cadillac alongside the bmw/mercedes in any non-american review.

ohgodwhy Oh, you highly doubt it? Well coming from an expert like you, that should be all that needs to be said then. Jesus, who do you think you are? This video proved that the ATS-V handles the best, did you even watch it? Did you listen to anything they said? Oh and the fact that you even said "heritage" proves that you're a car-illiterate quack. Oh does heritage make a car faster? Does heritage make it handle better? No? Then why did you mention it again? Right, because you're a moron. And who cares what you think other people are going to think if you pull up in a Cadillac? The ATS-V very clearly beats the other two in this comparison, and this is not the first time that's happened. The ATS_V also beat the C63s and the M3 in Motor Trend's comparison. Is that a coincidence? Really? Or is it maybe that you're a biased asshole who is not smart enough to absorb the information put directly in front of his face? Seems like that's more likely, to me.
@vernonprice59868 жыл бұрын
Grocery Bagger Seriously? www.jdpower.com/sites/default/files/2015%20VDS%20Slide1_0.jpg Where is Cadillac on that list, and where is Mercedes and BMW? Once again, the Cadillac won this comparison because it does all things better than the other two cars do all things. They were very clear about the ATS-V dominating the other two around the track, too. So it's not just "the cheapest" it is actually "the one that beat both the other cars". AND it's the cheapest.

This was good...until the ending summary. WTF does a saggy rear end have to do with anything here? Who the hell needs a forward-facing camera with those graphics? Seriously, stupidest rationalizations I've ever (probably) ever heard for choosing a "winner". 4G? What a waste of tech in a car, who needs it. Yes, the Caddie is an amazing drive, but it's takes MUCH more than that to win a contest like this. And the styling of the ATS-V is the most ordinary of the 3, easily, looking like a last generation Camry. The Benz looks like a million bucks. The BMW looks like half a million bucks. I was all ready to hit the subscribe button until the last 2:30 minutes.

+senorgato70 Whining about the PDR just makes you look really stupid. The PDR is excellent, it's an amazing thing to have in your car, and whining about it just makes you look like a fucking child. The ATS-V was the best balanced, best driving car in this test. The end. Accept it, and get over it.
@kernoleary13949 жыл бұрын
+senorgato70 he's saying the c63 rear end LOOKS "saggy", in other words he doesnt like how the rear end LOOKS... its his personal opinion, and its referring to appearance. It's unclear exactly how they are judging these cars, but it seems they are considering price, and mainly track/DRIVING experience. If the cheapest car here is the most exciting on the track what are you really mad about? Everyone knows mercedes interiors are gorgeous. but thats not the point...
@vernonprice59869 жыл бұрын
senorgato70 You are. Here's one of your many whines: "Who the hell needs a forward-facing camera with those graphics?" You're whining because you're trying to find something to bitch about, because you didn't like th result of this test. But the fact is, the PDR is a really cool piece of tech that has a lot of uses, and the other cars don't have it. So you bitching about it makes you look petty and stupid. And see, now you're just lashing out at me because you're still crying about the ATS-V winning the comparison. Get over it, child.

Just because one car is faster that the other it doesn't make it better, like build quality better. Why do you think Mercedes and BMW are more expensive that the Cady?? They use much better and expensive components to build their cars, they take time developing new technology, they test their cars in extreme condtitions. You say BMW looks cheap inside, you have obviously never sat in one. When you sat in german luxury car and then compare it with american luxury car, you are out of your damn mind if you're say that american car makes you feel more special. American cars are good, I'm not saying they are not, but when it comes to build quality of the cars, no one can beat germans. At least not for now. You can say what ever you wanna say. I mean what I just said and I'm sticking to it.
@luvitluvitbaby9 жыл бұрын
+Vedran Horak Cadillac takes time developing there cars too. It's exterior design language is the most distinctive and aggressive by far. From a standpoint of handling, Cadillac beats out it's competitors by far PLUS it's packed with technology. The only real complaint reviewers have about it is the Cue system. Now for $20,000 and $30,000 less it really blows it's competition out of the water.
@veca63chuckie9 жыл бұрын
Iknow everythinghahahahaha! That's OK, but that's the problem. As long as they trying so desperately to be the fastest and cheapest, their cars will never be better than the germans. I feel like that's the only thing americans care about, in every other video where Corvette beats some double the price car from Germany they always say: "HAHAHAHAHAHAH for that price I can have 2 Corvettes." , I would get that Corvette and tune it to like 1000 whp." That's all OK by me, but american cars will never be better as long as they keep doing the same thing. Be the fastest and the cheapest.
@luvitluvitbaby9 жыл бұрын
Vedran Horak I get what you're saying and historically speaking you're right, but lately, Cadillac started going in a different direction. Cadillac isn't necessarily trying to be the fastest anymore, but rather the most complete performance-wise. The ATS-V is not the fastest of the class, that would be the C63, but it does have the best handling. It benchmarked the M3 in its development and surpassed it. The reason it's cheaper is because Cadillac does not have the same brand recognition as BMW and Mercedes. If it was comparably priced no one would by it, even if the specs and build quality were superior, because the BMW and Mercedes badge carries more prestige right now. However, if Cadillac keeps on track eventually they will gain that recognition and their prices will start to reflect that.
@veca63chuckie9 жыл бұрын
Iknow everythinghahahahaha! You my friend are 100% right. I think you are one of few rare people with who I can actually talk here on yt. The brand recognition is playing a pretty big role in the whole thing. If the Cady stays on it's track it will one day be neck to neck with the Mercedes, BMW and Audi. Personally, I like the looks of the Cadillac, I think it's a good car, but from what I'm used here in Europe, Mercedes brings that whole package, you know what I mean?? Like, specially new Mercedes AMG models, older ones had some downgrades like handiling but built quallity, the materials never seemed to be one of them. ///M and ///AMG are know neck and neck, a few years ago, the first time ///AMG interdouced us with CLK Black Series, they figured out they need to work on the handiling if they ever gonna beat ///M. I think this is the time for ///AMG to took the crown. If not know, when?? If AMG went on to took the crown from Porsche with the AMG GTS I don't think ///M will be that much harder. You know what I mean?? Cadillac is something ///AMG went through, but one thing is sure, the game is chaniging.
