I'd say at this point lithium mining will have destroyed the potable water supply and fires from short circuits and crashes will have used all the firemen's water supply. It just seems to me when they stopped pursuing hydrogen fuel cells they stopped being really serious about net zero emissions and renewability. There's an unlimited supply of hydrogen. It can be easily made and the ground is full of it. One method to make hydrogen requires either electricity or a battery to provide energy. But there are lots better batteries than lithium. So lithium batteries last 8 or 9 years? Does that seem reasonable to you? It doesn't to me when we've been making batteries that will last in excess of 10 years since at least the 60's. I think German scientists just came up with a nickel hydrogen battery that will last about 30 years. That's more reasonable. That's getting serious about the cost and reliability issues. Until they get serious about it I'd never consider much more than a Toyota hybrid like a Prius. But right now just the Camry and Corolla 4 cylinders make pretty nice longer lasting cars. But probably there's American made V8's and sixes all around here including the one I drive that will last longer than anything I've mentioned. It might get expensive... especially if we increase offshore taxation on trading partners who will turn around and tax us by increasing prices on plenty of the things we don't currently grow, build... IDK...I don't see it working but I'll wait and see. But what we were doing wasn't working either. Well, it worked just like a business with 2 sets of books. One you show everyone. I would say 50% based upon the number of roads mapped, jerky and felt less confident in the Ford, Lane Change, Trailer towing, reactivating automatically after taking control of the wheel and the butt buzzer mixed with the steering wheel light gives an quicker indication of what is going on. Sorry, over a 100 miles in both, and GM finally won a battle against Ford, in my opinion.

Petrol hybrids work with Atkinson petrol engine which is a match made in heaven. Diesel hybrids make sense because you can give a car massive towing capacity with a relatively small and efficient diesel engine. It's okay to pay more for non ethanol fuel because you will get better mileage from pure gas. Alcohol will burn but it isn't an efficient power producer at the compression of a gas engine. When Brazil went to alcohol as fuel, they made their cars dual fuel with 16:1 compression ratio or higher because the alcohol needs that compression. Oil companies should hate alcohol but they don't because alcohol is the fastest way to boost Octane in fuel that's a little too low in Octane.

I store gas in air tight containers strong enough to withstand some pressure and I keep them in a temperature stable place and even ethanol fuels don't give me a problem. Just open the cans slowly in case some pressure has built up and since the can have long winded screw caps, the caution takes care of itself.
