Why did you not put the rotor screws back in? I noticed you omitted them after you put everything back together on both sides.
@omgitsrickatier11 ай бұрын
Because they are literally useless on studded hubs. He just saved the next mechanic a ton of hassle. Most Hondas have them probably for assembly purposes in the factory. I did myself a favor and threw them away on my crv when I changed the rotors last.

I was doing my neighbors 2007 Honda odyssey brake job at the front in California the car was from out of state with over 220k miles the screws were welded 3 out of 4 so I drilled the the disk rotors screws when you take them off make sure you throw them away it doesn't need it lol😅😂
@Amen.22 Жыл бұрын
Yes, you’re correct. Those screws are to hold the rotor on while the vehicle is being assembled at the factory. They’re not needed after they leave the factory.

how long do brakes last? when do they wear out? how many miles can a person go before changing them? does it matter on how a person drives before that first change etc?

depends how one drives, quality of the original brake pads..... i have 6 years and 60k miles on the pads i'm using.... getting ready to change them this spring....

I have a question 🙋♂️ do you not need to bleed the breaks or do you not show it? I’m about to do this job on a 2018 Nissan Altima. Should I worry about bleeding the breaks?

semi-metallic pads will eat rotors. I only use ceramic pads for customers, less likely to destroy the rotors.

I think the torquing lug nuts thing started because of quick lube type places leaving lug nuts loose and wheels falling off while driving, resulting in lawsuits. Torquing lug nuts was probably the result of lawyers getting involved. I’m 69 and I’ve never torqued lug nuts, and I’ve never heard of anyone else doing it either. Now I guess you have to torque everything, even though I don’t think it’s necessary.
