Exactly. Rookie mistake. Bring all your tools or none at all. Shit never goes as planned. No offense to Earnest. Apparently he just has WAY better luck then I do. I account for a shitty day and am pleasantly surprised when I have a good one. Instead of the other way around. Then again, my family's motto is "If we didn't have bad luck, we'd have no luck at all."

Since you know there’s a parasitic draw I would install a battery shut off switch until you narrow down what it is and just shut it off when you’re done for the day so it quits killing batteries.

Yes I wouldnt even put them on fast charge. Slow charge way better. Batteries were fried.

Hey bud. I’m a full time diesel mechanic. Instead of a power probe, go on amazon and check out a Autel Power Scan PS100. They are around 70 bucks and it is the exact same as a power probe.

On a dual battery setup, 1 bad battery will suck the life out of the other. I was too cheap to buy 2 batteries last year, charged then isolated and load tested them. I replaced only the bad one. Since it had the warranty, and you got them under that, good deal.

remove your negative battery cables and put a multi meter inline between the negative post and the cable and see the draw. then pull fuses and see when the draw goes away. whatever fuse makes the draw on the meter go away is your problem circuit.

Car #1, the Nissan with missing problem, reminds me of when back in the day there used to be a vacuum gauge that you plugged into the inlet manifold to troubleshoot various valve and cylinder issues. It came with a chart and by looking at the gauge readings you could pinpoint the problem. I do have one in my man cave. I am wondering weather they still make such a tool.

I work at a shop and do mobile too we take turns going on calls. The cold days are the worst lol. Can’t even think sometimes it’s so cold. And cold to hold on to the tools. I don’t have a Costco in my area but I do have Sam’s and they told me they can’t warranty any batteries that they didn’t install so I got mad and took my battery business elsewhere when they refused warranty.

Ernest, Have you tried figuring out what is causing the draw on the batteries? I really enjoy the day in the life videos. Where did you get the circuit tester that you used to test the heater fan? My Subaru Outback fog lights wouldn't turn off last week. I had to get a new relay switch & fuses. After I switched the relay switch the fog lights started blowing the fuse. I have it working now but I need to check the wiring & clean if needed. Have you looked at getting a thermal insulated coveralls for the Winter? Bryan

Earnest I like your channel in all but, in my opinion I think you need to do some research on different ways to diagnose problems.. for example the Nissan with the misfire what if it wasn’t so easy to swap tronics around and you couldn’t swap coils or plugs around..

What do you reckon the parasitic draw is coming from? I have a 1994 mazda navajo that seems to have some parasitic draw as well. I drive it back and forth every day to work but if there is a long weekend that I dont drive it or I'm driving my other car, the battery will die. It does have a sound system in it and the power cable to the amp isnt hooked up to the positive terminal very well so im thinking that may be the problem?

Every retailer is different. Walmart will just scan the serial number to see of there is warranty. If no serial number and no receipt you're SOL. Walmarts with auto centers that are open will want to test the battery. In my experience without an auto center they take the customer's word. I believe Advance marries the purchase with your telephone number.
