Roadster Sport Exhaust on ND Miata - Review and Install!!!

Sounds fantastic! This exhaust will almost certainly be going on my ND3. I've listened to over a dozen exhausts for the Miata, but the SuperStreet remains at the top of my list.

I do have it but it took forever to get a new gasket delivered (probably don't need it but just in case) and now it's cold as hell so it's sitting in it's box still. When it warms up again I'll slap it on.

I just installed this last night. It's crazy how WOT sounds EXACTLY like this video. Great sound, but it's a bit loud for me when driving around town. Going to put the baffle back in until the muffler breaks in a little more.

Does the baffle really make a significant difference?

@@gustavette8487the included cone baffle cuts the booming sound on decel around 20% as well as reduces the overall volume a bit. Cold starts aren’t quite as loud either It’s not a huge change, but it’s enough to take it from this is slightly loud/annoying to just right. There’s other baffle options as well, haven’t tried them yet The downside is it doesn’t sound quite as good. Great option for daily driving though. Mine has definitely mellowed out with some miles to the point I don’t really see the need for the baffle unless I was going to do a lot of top up highway driving. IE road-trip or hour + drive

It's all steel construction with no fiber baffling or packing materials. There's nothing to "break in."

That sounds very good. Had 3 na miatas with intake, headers, high flow cat, and rb exhaust. Great sound! Like the race version also.

Thanks for the video, you've made up my mind about this axle back, the sound is perfect! How to shipped it to Vancouver BC without getting robbed by the custom and brokerage is another story though.

Agreed. I just got dinged $75.00 with all the taxes and brokerage fees on an order from out of the country. Surely there must be some good mufflers for the MX-5 within Canada?

Just put one on my nc 07, love it! I'm half deaf so it was way too quiet. The rest of my exhaust is stock so this is perfect, now it sounds like a sports car.

I intalled it last week on my ND1, you control the sound by how much beans you feed it. Turns heads everywhere you go. Adds a little more HP on the top end.

Man, you made a great video here. Does the single tip look good or do you wish it were twin tip? Would you still recommend this exhaust now that you had it for a while?

single tip looks fine (preferred by me) and is litterly straight to the point. Twin tips for show, single tip for go. Single weighs less too. my wrx is dual twin tip and it's just a styling exercise as there is a Y out of the muffler to give the twin tip look. two single tips would have been just fine, and easier to clean....

@K03sport I ended up going for the single tip and I love it. You're right about it being straight to the point instead of trying to show off two tips for no good reason. The single is definitely the better choice for the Miata. I've seen some quad tip options and those are even more ridiculous on a little 4 cylinder Miata.

Since the exhaust takes up less space underneath, is the underside aerodynamically affected? Does it create any stability issues at higher speeds? I watched a video of someone installing a Verus rear diffuser and claims it helps with the above issues due to smaller exhausts

This isn't a McLaren lolol. But to answer your question, no I have not noticed any aero or stability issues. Car feels great.

unless your tracking your miata alot, constantly hitting 90mph+, and are absolutely concerned with speed, you won't need to worry. Diffusers are meant to reduce the drag that the rear underbody has when it has uneven spaces, and are usually used with the full underbody as a way to achieve maximum speed with minimum drag. A small exhaust change won't affect it at all if you are just daily driving the car on the streets.

I've read that some people's rears lift and ride on the 2 front wheels when going 80+ mph (thankfully not kilometers). With the Verus front splitter, you might be able to achieve 4 wheel lift like a hovercar.

The race muffler is most definitely louder. You get a bit of a tone difference but it's extremely loud

@Jeebus Hiii, I bought one not long ago, it didnt came with a gasket so I assume I wasnt supposed to install it with one but I noticed that it was leaking condensation from the connector so I assume its a exhaust leak. Is that normal ?

the gasket is supposed to keep things contained...but if it's any consolation, my wrx had exhaust leaks at the 2 rear flanges from the factory (no gasket, just flange to flange)...the leak isn't ideal but not a huge worry...

6’1”, 200 lbs (90 kg) have ND2 2020 RF GT. It was quite a change from NC2 to ND2! Seemed snug at first, but after a couple thousand miles, it seems to fit perfectly. I now prefer it to other options - what initially felt snug now feels like it was designed to fit around my body. I have longer legs, and that is the part that is pushing the limits for me. I have plenty of room elsewhere. My helmet (very) easily bumps the ceiling, but not enough to be a significant issue. At 5’11”, you will be convinced that RF or ST was made just for you! But it might seem tight when you first get in.

Super late to the party but whatever. Drove an RF a couple years ago with the top up if memory serves correct. I'm 6ft 180lbs with most of my height being in my legs so I was more concerned about leg room when driving and if there was enough room for my knees and such. Needless to say the addition of the telescoping steering wheel definitely helps.
