Know what sucks? What sucks is when someone has 3 or 4 months to get his story straight...a story that is never going to change....straight. There is a complete set of rules and regulations regarding the sponsor stickers. There is no confusion, complexity, duplexity, or even triplicity. What does this mean? It means that Shmee is lying. He's lying about how he never got the stickers, he's lying about his cars going to a different city before the race and yada yada yada. The FULL sticker packs were provided to him. HE and HE only chose to put HIS OWN sticker over the sticker of one of his perceived KZbin competition in the "Daily Car Video" segment. There can't be a mistake because every other sticker BUT DDE's sticker got in its place. The only difference? A Shmee150 sticker was provided for him in the place where the DDE sponsor sticker was provided, along with where it was to be positioned. The true story is so simple to prove that it's just stupid that he's STILL trying to lie. A full sticker pack is on his car, except for DDE, with Shmee150 taking up the DDE spot. It should be mentioned that DDE paid $500,000 for that sticker to be on his car versus the $30,000 grand Shmee paid to drive his car in the Gumball3000. $500,000 gets you a sticker on a car. $30,000 and your own sticker makes you a lying sack of crap because every other sticker was placed perfectly...other than the DDE one (that got replaced by a childish man who was upset that DDE was going to be on his car despite paying for that right). The sticker packs are provided to every driver. They contain ALL of the stickers and where they're supposed to be placed. It's months later and HE'S STILL TRYING TO LIE ABOUT IT! Cancel Culture? Thank GOD there is a cancel culture because what he did was pull a dbag move but WORSE he lied about it at the race. But WORSE of ALL? He hasn't stopped lying, he's still trying to make like what he did was a mistake when it so clearly was not and he's refusing to acknowledge that he screwed up (like 10 times now after all of the lying and cheating he's done. Just by the fact of his words in your video proves that he still hasn't learned his freeking lesson yet. Perhaps he NEEDS to be totally cancelled? Would he admit to lying and cheating nonstop for months then? Is there any way of him redeeming himself?? OH! Just so we provide facts when they are needed> From the Gumball site... *19. Logos You agree to have the official decal pack applied to your vehicle by Organiser's nominees and to maintain them on your vehicle during the entire Event. This consists of the Gumball 3000 logo and all official partners and sponsors names and logos as well as your allocated team number. 2. You shall not deface, cover up or otherwise obscure such stickers and shall use all reasonable endeavours to keep them visible at all times.* Stickers are not permanent and easily removable without damaging vehicle finishes. The Organiser will therefore not be responsible for claims for damage to vehicle finishes as a result of the application or removal of such stickers. 3. You shall not be entitled to use any of the Organiser's, partners’ or sponsors’ logos, trade marks or name for any purpose whatsoever. In particular, you shall not be entitled to use the Gumball 3000 logo or name on any website or in printed materials. 4. The Organiser shall not be responsible for any damage caused to your vehicle during the application or removal of the official decal pack. Any issues should be discussed directly with the company responsible for the application or removal. 20. Personal Sponsorship Personal sponsorship for your vehicle is only permitted if you obtain the Organiser’s prior written consent at least 30 days prior to the commencement of the Event. Subject to obtaining the Organiser’s prior written consent as to the identity of your personal sponsor(s) (up to a maximum of two (2) personal sponsors), you will be entitled to place your own sponsors/sponsors names, marks and/or logos in two (2) designated positions only on your vehicle provided that your sponsor/sponsors does not / do not, in the Organiser's opinion and at its sole discretion, compete or conflict with the Event’s Official sponsors. The Organiser will determine the location and size of your sponsor / sponsors names, marks and / or logos on your vehicle and this will be communicated to you in advance of the Event. If you wish to place your own sponsors / sponsors names, marks and/or logos on your vehicle you should submit a written request (to the Organiser) for permission to do so. Personal logos are to be produced at the cost of the Participant and applied in the designated areas only after the official decal pack has been applied.* That's right. He keeps saying that everything blew up after the rally, but he was already showing subtle diss against DDE even before the rally started. DDE even announced they were sponsors of Gumball before the rally started so i don't see why he was confused about the sponsorship stickers

I dont believe it for one minute, you know who really knows the truth is Max owner of Gumball, i have personally spoken with him on this subject, the only one that seemed to be "confused" was Tim, now Max will tell you 2 weeks prior too this event a lot of emails and and talks were made with the drivers,2 weeks prior too event all the drivers got a lot of information including sponsers and car decals with renderings of this including Merch, DDE was listed on all these so TIM KNEW, there is a lot more to this but want to keep this fairly short I can assure you Tim choose to do this on purpose, he has long standing Issues with James "Mr.Jww" relating to his dealership and other personal dealings, and James is a friend of DDE Damon, you can say in some ways Tim harboured some Jelousy, dont believe me you can ask Gumball "Max" yourshelves Tim is not as solid of a person as you guys will have you believe

Shmee is just wrong. The only way he'll apologize is if he looses enough subscribers. It was classic jealousy. DDE came to Europe and make Shmee irrelevant in Gumball, in his own back yard. Shmee felt a certain kind of way about it. Before that point, ppl were screaming Shmee on Gumball Rallys. Instead of taking note, he chose to give into his jealousy and took off the stickers. If I paid north of six figures to sponsor Gumball, and you took of my logo off your car, I would snub you too, and deal with it after the rally like Damon did. Shmee is a meticulous guy. He can't expect us to believe that he didn't know. He is full of it. I stopped watching Shmee. I just can't support this kind of action from an individual, even if the content is good. TBH, I watch both DDE and Shmee150 as they both offer different content. I enjoy Tim's journalistic take on cars giving indepth view into the automotive world. DDE is more fast paced, chaos and production type entertainment. I wish they could one day resolve their issue but will continue to watch both👍

Fantastic interview, Tim was very honest yet dignified, he answered all the questions and didn’t skirt around the DDE incident, but also didn’t bad mouth them, you knew it upset him and he was very clear that it was unfair but also left it there. Genuine guy and good to see the real man behind Shmee. Obviously very intelligent and articulate and an astute business man, really enjoyed it and for a 2 hour plus video it didn’t feel long.

If you remember the US Gumbal TFX or TX something like that turned out to be a scmamming organization, then if you remember they were giving the opportunity to remove stickers as they please ( yes this was a different circumstance) but they were givin the right to remove the stickers. Even if Tim took them off ( he clearly didn't) he after paying over 100k to be involved in the rally alone, he should have the right to remove them. There is alot more stuff behind the scenes about the DDE situation that if you were there or around both parties prior to and post incident, you’d understand Tim’s reaction. Damon literally falls out with everyone he befriends at some point. He has that kind of personality and it’s that personality that makes his content so popular and brings him millions of fans. I’m not calling Damon out or saying it’s his fault because he’s an “arse” because it’s just his personality and how he works. Tim isn’t about drama. He never has been and he never will be! DDE thrives off drama and their channel is based off it. Just two different personalities that clashed that’s all! People need to get over it and move on

I used to subscribe to Shmee, it wasn’t just this that ended my subscription. It was just the same content being pumped out consistently and just got boring. He was sent the official sticker pack for his cars, all of them would’ve contained DDE in there. He chose to remove the DDE logo and replace it with his logo where the DDE should’ve been. That’s not a “misunderstanding” it’s deliberate, no matter how you want to roll that turd of an excuse in glitter, it’s still a turd of an excuse. And then to try and turn it in to a positive to do a collaboration on the call out video because he knew how bad it looked. Everyone saw how he tried to back paddle. I lost respect for him as a content creator. If you’ve got something wrong just own it and be done. Unfortunately it was only ever going to go one way. What he should’ve done was left it where it was and added his logo on the car. This then wouldn’t have happened

I've met Tim a few times now and he's been absolutely fine. People forget that he's also a human being and wants space when out and about doing his own stuff or things that don't necessarily affect the channel. If you're angry at him that he didn't speak to you because he was busy doing videos, maybe think that's because he's working? He's doing what he's getting paid to do, and what he loves. And everyone saying he's wrong and could've put the stickers on, but then so could DDE with the two sponsors they didn't put on? Even Tim said that, they're in the wrong too then for not putting sponsor stickers on their cars. I wouldn't stick another youtubers stickers on my car if they weren't an official sponsor(dodgy sponsor if even gumball couldn't answer themselves) especially if that one youtuber is missing official stickers too. I've been watching this epic vid for a few days. I just watched the bit about Tim's birthday week and the F1 GTR. I get his view of what's next. I'd suggest using your experience, Tim, to compare our experience with most likely the most advanced recent car, as in the F1 GTR, with new models coming out. Looking at the evolution of supercars from the driver's experience. Only you would have that ability, Tim. As a result, I see you being responsible for providing clarity to the driver community, and your opinion is highly relevant. Those who genuinely appreciate and respect cars need your voice and opinion. I drove a Lamborghini Espada and a Mura back in the '70s. I then moved the Diablo in the 90's. I immediately noted the lineage and connection. I then drove the Adventador and didn't get the same feeling. Love your work.

I stopped watching DDE after that video about the stickers. Say what you like about Tim but he is clearly an honest guy. I have met several automotive KZbinrs who have all spoken highly of him and the whole DDE aspect of creating drama etc is just crappy videos for clicks. Ben- kudos to you for this long form video podcast. I thought you asked a number of thoughtful questions. As a result, I think I understand Tim Burton and Shmee 150 a lot better. I didn't realize how important it is to Tim to keep the Shmee150 persona separate from his personal life. At least for me, it was easy to form an opinion of Tim as this guy with a privileged upbringing, boarding school education who jets around the world with his supercars and considers himself a bit better than everyone. After Ben's pod, I realize he's an incredibly hard working guy. Every car movement, event participation, car purchase is supported by an analysis that the activity will pay for itself with YT revenue. He's feeling the responsibility now of having a staff that flies on his enterprise for their livelihoods. I could care less about the DDE sticker thing. Tim's explanation was too long winded and didn't clarify things much.

Sucks hearing Tim still playing out the "I didn't know they were sponsors" card STILL when he blatantly told Damon "Why would I put a RIVAL team's sticker on my car?" when they asked in the video he's so mad about? Then there's all the bits about him not wearing gumball official merch cause it had the DDE logo on it and him making his own stuff so he wouldn't have to rep a "rival" brand. I honestly couldn't care about the drama between them outside of I guess it sucks they'll probably always be on non collab terms from there on out because the little bit of content they did together was good stuff. Personally I see Tim as being the one in the wrong here because logically thinking, why else would the DDE stickers be in the sponsors stickers unless they're a sponsor? Plus all he had to do was make a phone call to Dave or Gumball officials for a flat out answer and he could've thrown them on quickly anywhere once he found out but he left them off. I always knew it was a miscommunication that blew up at it's roots, but the way Tim handled it was in poor fashion and taste, especially when the drama was fresh and people were asking what happened and he blatantly was talking rudely about DDE in the replies of his own social media. Really the only people who will suffer from it though are the fans who enjoyed both channels doing things together...

I've been following shmee since the mp4-12c days. I was attracted to how genuine and real he was in his videos and how he gets as excited to go these amazing adventures as I would. I met him briefly at SEMA last year and took a photo with him. I walked around SEMA for a few hours, and he was still standing in the same place talking to fans. I even sent him a DM on Instagram to see where I could go see the Zenvo and he responded and told me. I'm in the US and i find myself more interested in the UK channels like Shmee, Mat, and more recently I've been enjoying to a lot of your podcasts. In my view of the controversy is that DDE when they made that video, they confronted Shmee which basically fueled the fire. This is coming from me, a neutral viewer that watches both shmee and DDE. but I really feel like DDE really handled this incorrectly as Tim just left it and did not say anything to DDE where as DDE straight up confronted him and pushing a camera in Tim‘s face purely for views which I think is completely unacceptable and makes Damon and Dave look childish. Tim even wanted to settle it with them as he said in this podcast that he said off camera to DDE about making some content together which they completely ignored, which is just such a shame and gives DDE a bad name in my eyes.

Some good sense here, but some bad take as well. I find it just dumb to find the camera excuse plausible. Both sides are on the youtube game, don't project and think they don't know the rules, how it works. They have both their own recipe, but still very well know how it works. You have no right as a youtuber to be surprised and not knowing how to react to a camera brought to your face, that's your own game. Also, we can elaborate all we want about further events, but if Schmee just said "I didn't know, let me do it" or "I don't know, let me confirm that real quick". Then all of this vanishes. And that's what any genuine normal person would have done. Anything after that, doesn't matter : Not knowing, but not wanting to check. Not knowing and turning a blind eye. Straight up not wanting. Staight up not wanting and proposing some shady trade. Doesn't matter which one it is. Schmee put himself above the rally rules, and cannot admit his mistake. All the noise around that, is complaining about youtube game, between 2 youtubers. Just silly in my honest opinion. Blame the game, not the players.

You pay to be the part of a Gumball rally. Yes, you can drive on public roads on your own, but you won't meet all these people, you won't make lots of new friends and you won't have lots of business opportunities through it. Also you won't meet lots of fans if you have any. Even if you have enough friends to drive in a group on your own, it's not the same when noones waits for you. That's the point of the rally, everyday you achieve something. If you have any issues with your car, you don't just ship it to the dealer and take the rental - you solve the problem and you drive to the point even with a broken car. Also Gumball is a charity event, so you help people. And you can help even more with donations on charity parties at most stops. And sometimes Gumball allows you to do things and go to places that you wouldn't be able on your own, basically whole this years Gumball was super special and you can't get such treatment in certain countries when you're on your own, period.
