Thanks for the feedback, and greetings from the USA! I recently rode with another channel subscriber who has balance issues to do previous head injuries ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/nV6QgoaXn8Z_ebc ). He is unable to ride two-wheelers because of his balance problem, so he rides the Ryker reverse-trike instead. I have more long-format ride videos on my channel that you might like, and there are several more that I will be uploading to my channel soon. Cheers, and thanks for watching! 👍 --QM

Agreed! I've been riding the twisty roads in Arkansas since I was old enough for my motorcycle license (14 yrs old in Oklahoma back in 1984). There are thousands of miles of rural highways that are fantastic to ride and explore, and they feel like totally different roads when you turn around and ride them in the opposite direction. Great motorcycling country! Cheers! 👍 --QM

Ops. Dimenticavo Melville ( strepitoso) e Edgar Allan Poe. Ciao!!!!

Thanks, Derrick! I was stuck editing that episode for several weeks in my spare time, so I put out a survey and asked subscribers to vote on how to cut that episode... either time-compressed or full-length. The answer came back with over 70% asking for full-length, so that's what we did! Cheers! 👍 --QM

Do you carry 20 batteries along ot make a vidio this long?
@QuasiMotard Жыл бұрын
🤣 It's almost that bad! I usually carry 4+ spare batteries with me, and the dead ones are connected to recharge in my tail bag. Sometimes I have a USB battery pack in my riding jacket with a USB cable connected to the camera to keep it going for several hours. This ride series was recorded on my old GoPro Hero7 Black camera. Its maximum recording time at 4K on a 128GB card was about 3 hours, but only ~35 minutes on a fresh battery. My newer GoPro Hero11 accepts high-capacity cards, so it can record nearly 9 hours of 4K footage, and the batteries usually last about an hour. That means less battery swapping and babysitting if I want to record long durations. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM

We averaged 45-55 mph during most of that group ride. My Super Cub cruises the back highways comfortably at that pace all day long... 50-55 is the sweet spot, but it can be pressed to maintain 60-65 mph when needed. 😉👍 --QM

Great video thank you for sharing it with us. Can you please tell me more about the one wheel trailer on your friends scooter.?
@QuasiMotard3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the feedback! Neil's scooter is a 2013 (?) Yamaha Zuma 125 which now has over 35K miles on the clock. He has other bikes, but he prefers to ride the scooter because it's more efficient and more fun to play with. His trailer is a custom design that he has created over a few iterations and modifications over the miles... some functional updates, and a few structural fixes due to minor failures of the frame. The original donor for the trailer was a Suzuki JR50 dirt bike... he hacked the steering stem and rear suspension (swingarm, shocks, and rear wheel) from the bike, and then he fabricated the mid-frame and tow yoke to attach to the scooter. You can watch a brief video that discusses some of the custom fabrication here: kzbin.info/www/bejne/hGHRooaIabaSqsk . I will try to do an in-depth interview and review of his trailer next time we meet up for a motocamping trip. Cheers! 👍 --QM

A note on ES. In 2016, i rode from Cedar Rapids, Iowa to ES. To teach a class in balloon art. Then rode to my sister's house in Chicago because i had a balloon gig at wrigleyville. Its 600 miles to Chicago from ES. I was on a 400 majesty. Several days of clothes and my 50 lbs of balloons! I rode 1600 miles that trip.

I live in St. Louis but make long story short do the bars vibrate much, I have trigger finger so need clutch less scooter just wonder about the rubber mounted bars and how well they work?
@QuasiMotard Жыл бұрын
The Super Cub is a vibey little bike because of the little 125cc single-cylinder engine. Long trips on the highways or back roads at higher speeds can make my hands a bit numb at times. I added Grip Puppies foam overgrips to tame some of the handlebar vibrations, and I've learned to maintain a light grip on the bars to reduce transferred/induced vibration into my hands. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM

I just googled the ozarks so it's basically a mountain range? America is so huge you can drive around that long and still be in 1 area 😳 Genuinely asking tho, how long would it take to go from 1 state to another by scooters? Are accomodations like motels or lodgings easy to find as you go or you have to book rooms ahead?
@QuasiMotard2 жыл бұрын
Yes, the Ozark Mountains are located in the state of Arkansas. I live in southern Texas where there aren't many scenic roads or mountainous terrain... it's very flat here. So, we enjoy riding to areas in the central and eastern United States that have more varied terrain and scenery. I have posted several of my multi-state and cross-country trips here on KZbin (road trips playlist: kzbin.info/aero/PLLXxDh3JumLk4f4Tm9dNh8eriYO84mqgT ). The distance and duration varies, so the time to travel between states depends on the route and which state. Texas is MASSIVE: 801 mi (1,289 km) from north to south, and 773 mi (1,244 km) from east to west. So it can take nearly 18-20 hours to cross on a small motorcycle or scooter. I usually try to limit my rides to 12-14 hours/day, which is typically 500-600 miles total. Hotels and motels are easy to find, and they usually have accommodations without any reservations needed. However, I prefer to motocamp whenever possible. Camping adds to the adventure, and it saves a LOT of $$$ over a long journey. Cheers! 😉👍 --QM

It’s a good idea to put a cover over your bike when it’s parked. Works to thwart curious people and wet weather. Electrics, especially turn signals will like it. Courtesy of Half Vast Flying

How did you manage to find the way when your machines were not always allowed to take major roads 50mphh and more ? I see you going 50+ at times, but not on highways with cars at 75. With paper maps, someone would have had a big job planning ahead, or was that what caused your "hiccup" and the backtracking...lol.
@QuasiMotard3 жыл бұрын
Our Super Cubs are generally able to reach 55-65 mph, but the trailers and the steep inclines limited us to 35-45 mph sometimes during this trip. Most of the rural highways don't have minimum speed limits like the interstates, so we just kept a close eye on our mirrors to let faster traffic pass us. It's not uncommon to see large trucks and farm machinery traveling very slowly (under 35 mph) on these roads, so most of the locals are accustomed to slowing down and being stuck behind queues of traffic going uphill. We never saw any angry motorists and everyone was generally very civilized until we got into the big cities where all of the cagers are angry and ready to fight for the best spots in stopped traffic. We relied on a combination of the official "TrickTracks" route for the Cannonball, Google Maps, and Waze to route us during the trip. We never had any need to backtrack, and we only missed 2 turns during the entire trip! We also had one undocumented road closure (downed bridge) that forced us to take a 10-mile detour. That's not bad for a 10K mile road trip! Cheers! 😉👍 --QM

@QuasiMotard3 жыл бұрын
The encoding took over 7 hours on a very fast machine, and the upload took about 2.5 hours. The file was ~28 GB. I usually have 8-16 hours of video from my road trips that needs to be cut and crunched into 30-60 minute videos... much smaller files to render and upload. 😉👍 --QM

I ride 40K+ miles/year, and most that it is MY time... totally unscripted and not shared with the world. However, it's hard to share these ride experiences with others online without resorting to some modern tech (e.g., GoPro, GPS, Bluetooth comm's, modern editing software, computers, etc). --QM
