One of my faves of royal families. Sweden, followed by Denmark and Britain. I was so happy to see Crown princess Victoria wearing her mother's Crown and veil when she married her prince (Daniel)! Let's not to forget she also was married on the same day as her parents did on their wedding day.

I see Silvia totally understand Swedish when preparing the vows. Although German is her first language, she can understand Swedish as her sixth language. She is a polyglot who speaks English and Portuguese (her mother’s native language).

Often the kings have married as crown princes, before they have become kings, so this was actually the first time a ruling king married in Sweden since 1797 when Carl XVI Gustafs paternal grandfathers maternal grandfathers maternal grandparents married (Gustav IV Adolf and Fredika-2 women in the descendance line, so by family name not of the same dynasty, but still ancestors of Carl Gustaf. 🙂)
