Seeing him enjoying that mud pile with no chain attached was just wonderful. So grateful you were able to bring him to your sanctuary. And it also amazes me how a surrogate elephant just steps in to watch over him! --- and he still has his goat friend. Beautiful.

Since the elephants can live up until 90 years of age, i hope lek and darrick have their succeasor to continue their legacy for taking care this sanctuary. Bless to all the team and hope the this sanctuary will continue for until next generation and keep going to do their jobs even if Lek and Darrick will not there anymore. What a wonderful gift, that one of God’s precious animals was given, freedom. I have one concern, was this little Ellie treated by a veterinarian? He should have been given an antibiotic injection at the site of the swelling. The little guy has been through a lot of drama, maybe they wanted to wait until he was more settled? But still that ankle should have been treated by a vet! He’s such a sweetheart. They wouldn’t want to lose him now!

Robbie, Khun Dej's leg got caught in a snare in the jungle. It was many days before he was discovered, so all those days the snare continued to do damage to his leg.

Can they not treat his swollen leg? I saw a video of an injured orphand elephant in Africa with a swollen leg. They gave him turmeric in his milk and after one month the swollenness had disappeared.
