I decided to spend a day in Laos border town HuayXai, i have been there before but as it is low season it was very quiet and most places where empty, its quite a relaxing little town on the Mekong and is worth spending a day to walk around or cycle and just enjoy, I always like to experience these little towns even if there is not much to do

I had a pretty good laugh regarding your steak ordering decision. You seemed to regret the choice almost immediately, and, of course, that concern was realized as soon as you cut into that rather tough and chewy looking piece of beef: perhaps an over-the-hill water buffalo or maybe even roadkill, who knows? Well, at least it didn't sicken you.

You need to contact the card issuing institution and file a claim with them. The bank with the skimmer doesn't care about you. They don't have a relationship to protect. File a claim of fraud with your financial institution ASAP. In general, it's best to always make withdrawals from the issuing institution's ATMs or affiliated ATMs. Time is of the essence. As for the steak, way overcooked! If you needed new soles on your shoes, that would have been a good use for that steak!

At least there is no traffic lights to worry about Tom. Soo quite there Tom. Camotes Island has no traffic lights. Pls wear a hat walking around the town bro. Last time I was there in Camotes Island. It was 32°c but felt like 37°c n I always wore hat n plenty of sunscreen Tom. Cheers mate

Very interesting little town. Laos is a country I may never get a chance to visit so thank you for taking us along! Most especially the temple with 100 steps, beautiful but I am already exhausted just watching 😅 Thank you for sharing your adventure with us stay safe always!

I had a problem with an ATM in Laos not paying out but issuing a receipt to say that it had. I messaged my bank giving full details of the transaction from the receipt and the location of the ATM. They requested that the Laos bank investigate the transaction and by international banking regulations the bank was obliged to respond within I think 30 days. After 30 days, no response was forthcoming which then meant that my bank was able to claw the money back and issue me with a refund. It took a while but you just have to go through this procedure. It seems some ATM's in Laos run out of cash and this can happen.
