I used to own a 78 Suzuki LJ50 was my first vehicle in rural, Canada. Even back then was a very capable 4x4. After watching your videos and seeing how you've fitted your awesome Jimny with all the camping stuff. I've decided to buy one again and explore New Zealand. I went to buy one yesterday in Auckland NZ and I was told the earliest I can get one is next March 2020! Crazy but that will give me time to research all the camping gear and 4x4 accessories I want to add. Thank you for all your videos, and keep up the good work.

So many things you've added I want to get as well, specifically a Feldon tent, suspension upgrade, roller stackable storage. I intend on pulling my fishing jet ski, which will be on a braked trailer as well. I've read it tow rating should be able to handle it, as the ski will weigh around 500KGs ish including the trailer. So keep the videos coming and thanks for the reply :)

The slide where your dry food bags are on top of. Picture this.. If the bags are removed and you see the slide. On top of the slide is a table top that is fixed to it,so when you slide out you can lift and flip up the table part making the slide an extension kitchen(adding another 900mm or so. Beneath the table is a table leg for support. The bags only need to be removed when you want the extended table so it still functions exactly the way it is. And also you can make a custom canvas flap for the back of the jimmny,so you can keep the door open overnight and the slide table still out. Two zippers in the canvas flap for each tray to pass through that way the rest of the jimmny is closed up. I hope i explained it well enough to picture.

@@RoamOverlanding Thank you, that really helps. I will be driving it to work daily from Clevedon to Auckland City and there is nothing else I know of on the market that would give me economy, reliability and be cost effective. The next thing would mean be adding another 20k and that is just too much. Can I please know the roof rack you used did it come custom or standard with the table? Because I am looking at weekday work car and weekend getting away for a day is their any roof rig easy on or off that would be great? In Auckland traffic you looking at a max spread of between 50 to 80km so I can’t see severe wind resistance that would affect fuel economy. Thx once again for the Jimny experience.

You're set-up is looking sweet. I have an 80 Series Landcruiser with a Rhino-Rack Batwing 270° awning. It's one of the most useful accessory I have on my rig. And when I do a solo overnight travel, I simply set up a swag on top of a single camping stretcher under the awning. It's quick and simple. I love that BonBraai. I like how its compact when packed. Though I'd use it mostly for bonfires, not for cooking. I'm going to see if they sell them here in Australia as I'd like to get one. PS. What brand are you're chairs? Great awning. A few questions: what is the weight? When it rains, does water from the roof come in through the gap between awning and roof racks? What are the details of that camp fridge, the brand and such? Great video, and voice!
@RoamOverlanding5 жыл бұрын
Hey bud, the awning weights around 20kg, there will be a certain amount of water that will drop through at the tailgate side, but it will get caught by the gutter rail, there is also the option of moving the roofrack slighting forward on the car so that gap is over the roof. Its plenty of protection anyways. The Fridge is the National Luna 40L they make some of the best fridges in the world!
