The thru-hikers get all the subs. But I don't think that's necessarily because people aren't as interested in watching section hiker's vlogs, I think it has something to do with KZbin's algorithms and recommendations Maybe? Backpacker_Comics was actually having a discussion about this on Instagram recently. It's like everyone who is interested in hiking is constantly getting AT and PCT thru hiking vlogs recommended to them, and no section hikes on other lovely Trails, so a lot of people are missing news about other beautiful Trails out there as well!

Hey, that was fantastic! Well done and thank you! Getting myself super psyched about doing a LASH from the Roan Highlands to the Grayson Highlands in the spring of 2020, I really enjoyed seeing your footage of bits and pieces of your hike. Can't wait to see the Overmountain shelter myself :-)

Into the Backcountry Guess what, I’m leaving Saturday for the hike I described above one year ago. :-) I stumbled upon this again today (it’s so hard to wait, I just had to sneak a peak through the vlogs of others to get a taste before leaving), and although I realized I had seen it before, I just had to watch it again all the way through. Quality vlogging of a quality spot on the Appalachian trail! You really should have more subscribers. That said, I shall be one of them.:-)

Are you aware of any restrictions regarding dispersed tent camping in the area?
@intothebackcountry2658

The only restriction is at Grassy Ridge Bald. Everywhere else is open to camping as far as I know

Thanks! I highly recommend this trail. To plan you can check out my trail guide at intothebackcountryguides.com and that should cover most of what you need to know. You can check out other KZbin videos and blogs for more of a well rounded knowledge of the area to

It was late May. I think the week before memorial weekend. I recommend going in early June because then the rhododendrons are in full bloom making views look epic

not a question about the video.How do i go about figuring out what size dry bag for a food bag?And what size i need for cloths?
@intothebackcountry2658
@intothebackcountry2658 7 жыл бұрын
Good questions. For a food bag generally speaking people use anywhere from a 12L dry bag to a 14L. It allows you to carry 4 to 5 days worth of food. And for your clothing bag it depends on how much extra cloth your bringing. For me I bring a beanie hat, gloves, underwear, and socks. A 6L is plenty big enough. I also bring extra paints and a shirt but leave them outside of my clothing bag so they don't wrinkle really bad

Into the Backcountry now the plan right now is a 7 day hike and 3 at base camp will the 12-14l bag still work

Tommy Broadbent If I'm reading your question right that's 10 days worth of food. I never personally packed for 10 straight days. Definitely consider going with the larger size 14L. I went for 7 days backpacking and was fine with a 13L

Into the Backcountry yes 10 days worth of food but will only be hiking for 5 or so miles per day seeing that it will be my wife and i first multi day hike
