Roanoke is right next to the blue ridge parkway, however, the Roanoke you're referring to where settlers disappeared happened in Roanoke North Carolina (part of the Outer Banks). We visited it briefly on our Outer Banks video.

the drone shots from the 1:45 to 1:58 mark of the fall colors, was that color profile modded in post processing or did the drone take that footage without tweaking after? what model drone?
@TheDetourDuo2 жыл бұрын
That was when I had a Mavic Air 2 and still kind of learning how to grade the the D-Cine Log footage from the drone which allowed me more range to play around with the color. When I was editing this video I hated the final look, but now looking at it it's not half bad. I've since upgraded to the Mavic 3 (pros and cons of that one).

I'm from Roanoke and always thought this city wasn't that great (yeah, I've lived in Richmond and even Barcelona), but now after moving to SK Canada, this city does have a lot to offer and I'd much rather live there. It has the Grandin neighborhood, downtown, wineries outside of town, new breweries, lots of local music and outdoor festivals, the lake area (which is where you guys were I suppose), lots of hiking, the new outdoor center on the parkway (forget what it's called). I really think it could become the new Asheville with some good city planning... There's rafting if you go out to Botetourt for example (just like Asheville). Also, there are 4 seasons and short, pretty mild winters. The spring and fall are long and very pleasant. Unfortunately, it's not a city that has a lot of opportunities for jobs, but the cost of living is pretty low. Also, in comparison to where I live now, Roanoke is a bit of a foodie place now. Thanks to Lucky's, Fortunato's and Local Roots, there are lots of choices in places that care about food and make it very interesting. I'd also recommend 3 Little Pigs for Barbecue and for a truly Roanoke experience, you have to go to Texas Tavern, though it's more of a place for after the bar.
