While I like Joker, I really miss Roar, it was my favorite ride as a kid and I'm upset I no longer get to ride it. The tunnel was the best part because the air time in there gave you the sensation of your about to lose your arms and head lol.

I think this is my favorite roller coaster at Discovery Kingdom. I used to hate it because it was so bumpy, but now I love it! I like it better than V2 because it feels a lot longer, and I like it better than Medusa because every fall gets me, not just the first one only. Also the tunnel thing is so epic and honestly, the seats are so freakin comfortable.

Thank You so much. Roar was my first coaster and i have been off grid for so many years I JUST found out it was gone two days ago. Watching the PoV if the new ride, joker, I already know its gonna pale to how much I loved roar. I always picked it every time for its noise, the sensation, being lifted and slid and jostled, It was the closest id even ridden to a mega coaster, and I went back year after year. This upload let me in some way revisit that feeling, and I am at a loss for words for how much this meant to me. Thank You

Yeah I agree. For sure not on top of the list for rides that needed an RMC makeover. I heard it got rougher as it aged but when I rode it like 15 years ago it was super fun and not rough at all for a wooden coaster. No where near as rough as cyclone at SFMM.

I grew up with this ride for maybe 16 years, probably rode it over two hundred times. I miss it dearly but I'll be honest, the Joker is one of the sickest rides I've been on. They kept virtually the same layout except it flips you the FUCK around and just a lap bar? Its everything I've dreamed of in a wooden coaster. RMC to me is a hero in the coaster industry. I do hope they dont snuff out the rest of the greats though like El Toro at Great Adventure haha

Damn man can we get the RMC treatment for SIx Flags America?! Come on man. Our park is one the the weakest Six Flags Parks out there. Our six flags as really nothing new to offer besides the water park. I hate how Six Flags tries to market an old coaster as a new one after just repainting it, getting a Hand-me-down or adding something stupid like a virtual reality headset to a roller coaster that doesn't need one. I mean come on man. The last "new" roller coaster addition was just a repainted Iron Wolf with good theming. B&M's first freaking roller coaster! What is also ridiculous is the amount of great parks that are within driving distance. You would think that with competition like Carowinds, Kings Dominion (not that great but still), Hershey Park, and the BIGGEST AMUSEMENT PARK IN THE WORLD Six Flags Great Adventure, that Six Flags America would at least try to be competitive. But no. The only thing that SFA has going for it is that its really convenient to get to if you live in or around DC.

Lol, I just road this two weeks ago. Roar is actually a lot more fun then I thought. However a word of advice, only ride the front! Believe me, the front has it's own mini-line because it's the best seat.

I never got the chance to ride this coaster and after riding Joker a couple of times, yes I do enjoy it a lot, but I do agree that they should have never rmc'd this ride. It just wasn't necessary cause the coaster was already getting so much love the way it was. They should've just waited for something bigger and probably have the rmc rapters put into this park like the one at Over Texas or Great America in the place where batman the ride is now. It could've made the park get a lot more attention than it does today. Six flags just wasn't patient enough

It is rather slow. Only goes 50 mph and also probably because of its age. This was one of the first GCI wooden coasters to be built. Built back in 1999.

If you buy a 1 day ticket, sure. A season pass is always worth it. the only down side is maybe a hour long drive if you come from the valley and a decent walk from parking to gates.

DialgaMarine3 Roar at Six Flags America has the Philadelphia Toboggan Coaster trains, while the one at Discovery Kingdom has Millennium Flyer trains from GCI. The PTC trains are a dual axle, four-wheel car, which doesn't allow it to move along the track quite as smoothly, and beats its way on the track. GCI's Millennium Flyer trains are a single-axle, two-wheel car with a pivolting hitch, and allows the train to articulate around the track well, therefore, enhancing the ride to be very smooth.
