After waiting 4+ hours with a group of other railfans, the train, CPKC G18-3, rolled into view. This would be an interesting chase as there were three engines in the lead. CP 2280 leading, Vermont Railway trailing second, and a CP Golden Beaver GP38-2 trailing third. In the line was a long string of tank cars.
The crew would pull up to Blue Seal Feeds and do some switching of cars then couple up and head towards Newport. As it was getting dark I had to get creative on where to set up but luckily was able to find a few well lit shots.
With the train being heavy and on a line with many grades, the engines were put to work for sure. While it is hard to hear on the video, in person I could hear those engines running from miles away as they approached North Troy and Newport Center.
Its not too often you can see these "large" trains on the CP. Usually its one GP20C-ECO so three engines was a treat. The border patrol guy was a little surprised to see us all waiting for It for sure.
