Roast VS Bake: The Definitive Answer

So I have a little mini oven that says toast and when you push toast, it cooks from the top and the bottom so basically it sounds like that’s the same thing as roast. The only problem is you say that roast just kicks on the elements a little bit at a time where as toast puts them on full blast. So I tend to bake, and then when I’m almost done, I put it on toast or broil to get the top of a little browner.

So if my oven only has bake and broil settings I can bake for 90% of my cook time and then broil at the end to get some nice caramelizaron on veggies?
