"pull out one mandrake" Just occurred to me she's going off a book from a magic-school, not a cooking-school. Meaning the method the book shows is to maximize the mana gained from a mandrake. I get the feeling that the rope, or string, that they use can be tied to multiple mandrakes, then pulled by a poor animal, all at once.

The path they took in the latter half of the episode was thanks to a secret passage that Chilchuck opened, it's a shortcut, but the drawback is, that there's more traps than if they had gone the normal, longer way. So it's very unlikely that Senshi has ever been there before.

Lol, these subtitles are actually for the English dub! There's a different set for the japanese translations, although using the dub subtitles shouldn't present any major issues.

Laios is the tank and the party leader, also very knowledgeable about monsters. It becomes clearer in later episodes, but even in this one he was making decisions for what the party should do and explained to Marcille how he was saving her magic for later floors.

Yeah, these subtitles seems more accurate to the translated manga I read. At least the fan-translations, not the official one. Official translation for the manga has errors. Once again the fans do a better job.

That's actually because the "Netflix ones" tie to the English dub. There is another "English" subtitle option when choosing the Japanese audio.

the weird part is that the english dub translation did actually keep in the duck walking up with onions joke but the english subtitles for the japanese dub ended up localizing it out. there are a lot of parts where the meaning gets lost in the english dub, but there are weird moments where the translation is somehow more accurate
