Let's be honest, Ishida should have lost this fight 4 or 5 times already but they're clearly saving him for a second round with Ichigo or a fight with Y.H. or Haschwalth, so he's riding the "main character plot armor" train at this point.... Plus, that annoying "Antithesis" Schrift that he used against Senjumaru (right? I'm assuming...) that's always in the back of the watcher's mind and pretty much guarantees to the audience that he will not lose to a character other than Y.H. or Ichigo and certainly not this early into the fray. Maybe in 10 or 15 episodes time, in Cour 4. Great fight otherwise but the writing is having some troubles in making Ishida not seem like a sudden benefactor of the "mc plot armor" status (especially considering where he was at these past few arcs...) and keeping you in doubt regarding the outcome of his encounters.

To deem the entire Humanity/Human World (including his father, btw, who chose not to live as a Quincy...) worthy of extinction and oblivion makes little to no sense. And knowing Uryu has read his grandpa's diaries*, he should know that Y.H. was the one (indirectly) behind his mother's death and certainly ONE of the obstacles impeding the harmony between Quincies and the remaining 3 Worlds for all this time (countless world wars, absorbing their powers and sacrificing them time and time again...I mean, Uryu just saw this happen some episodes ago...). Unless he's just buying Y.H.'s bs and very resumed and tilted version of History and not bothering to investigate any further than that, which wouldn't make sense with Uryu being the rational and supposedly intelligent individual that he is...Right? *«(...) At some point, Ishida Sōken REFUSED TO ACCEPT THE NEW PROGRESS OF THE QUINCY POWERS, such as the Vollständig, and held on to the old Letzt Stil [-> again, completely the opposite of what Uryu is doing...]. In fact, up until 5 or 6 episodes ago, he didn’t even know the Soul King was a real and a somehow “living” entity and had anything to do with the Quincies. So... Funny you bring up mahito at this exact moment cause I think in an interview Gege had with kubo he said when he saw the Matai Fukuin shotai (the bankai used in this episode) he started busting everywhere. He said it in different words obviously but unsurprisingly he likes the gross stuff. The tribute art he drew for kubo was gremmy smushing his own brain with his foot. Honestly renji is kind of like the anti-vegeta. When he was first introduced vegeta actually won against some henchmen. But after a certain point he never wins again basically. Whereas renji almost always lost at the beginning but then he won’t against Jackie and mask de masculine back to back near the end. And the ishida fight last episode was anime only so in the manga that’s one less loss he had so at the end of the series he was winning his fights mostly.

This Soul King Adnyeus/Archon Adonaios (->also close to the hebrew word meaning 'Lord') character fits into the Gnostic cosmology as well. The Archons are the "builders" of the physical/material universe/world. Adonaios/"Soul King", in particular, stands for The Sun, the center that provides COSMIC BALANCE, he stands for ROYALTY, KINGSHIP and power/authority - all things mentioned by Yhwach, his son, in this episode. Ichigo, at this moment in the story, is fighting to protect that «balance», the Universe as it is, the "status quo" and, consequently, trying to stop Yhwach's «revolution». Yhwach can also fit in that cosmology/mythology, if we compare him with Yaldabaoth(!!) (can be shortened to Y.H., as well and sounds quite similar, right?), an Ophite that stands for the planet Saturn (of great importance to the Romans, f.e.), that was cast into Tartarus (much like Yhhwach, no?) and whose name comes from the hebrew* "yalda bahut" (='Child of CHAOS' = «Revolution»??) -> he is «the outermost who created the SIX POWERS (= 4 Schutzstaffel + Uryu, The "A: Antithesis" + Jugram, the Grandmaster, "The B: BALANCE", Yhwach's other half, in his own words...), and therefore the chief ruler and Demiurge par excellence». In the Nag Hammadi gnostic text "On the Origin of the World", Yaldabaoth/Yhwach represents FORETHOUGHT (= Yhwach's ability, "The Almighty"). The reason pernida is fighting for the quincy's is because when ichibei sealed yhwach's almighty he said "you thought you'd to take the soul king's arm with nothing in exchange?" so yhwach took pernida in exchange of getting his almighty sealed

In the manga they didn't tell us, but in the anime cour 2 ep 12 or 11 there is a flashback scene where you can see ichibei gave Yhwach Soul kings left arm in exchange for his almighty seal which would break if yhwach does, which he died against Yama but got revived after 900 years, and after 99 more years he got his eyes back.
