There’s so many good gags in the changelings episodes that won’t get animated/are hard to miss. Chilchuck and marcille checking their important bits when they changed kills me. Senshi’s whole demeanor from his point of view didn’t change but everyone in the party treated him differently because he was an elf which made him rethink how he treated marcille in the past. Chilchuck definitely seems to realize how young marcille looks as a half foot. He’s already a girl dad but this bit for me is when it clicks that marcille and izutsumi are his newest kids. The manga has a bit about the bell that the anime cut. When Shuro first gives it to laios with it constantly ringing because he dropped it the bottom of his bag. The changelings chapter brings it back when laios chucks the bell down the hallway for izutsumi to chase but the anime cut it as well. Poor shuro slowly losing his mind from the constant bell noises. 23:24 The woman at the end when laios is describing the party is the former mage Asivia. She joined the party and immediately tried to hook up with laios and get special treatment from him. It was so bad namari and chilchuck were going to quit over it. Laios was clueless about the whole thing until chilchuck handed him an ultimatum. Marcille joined after her and really fixed the party dynamic because no one would tell her why the party had an issue with the previous mage. She really wanted the gossip so sucked up to everyone. The other half foot is dadan who is chilchuck’s coworker and the precious rogue of the party. He introduced laios to chilchuck when laios wanted to go to the fourth floor and lower since dadan only works up to the third floor.

Thing is with this show, you just have to accept it as is. If you're looking for something narrative heavy, you'll be disappointed. The characters are entertaining and the animation is pretty good, even if it's a little wild at times. Keep going, the next episodes are better. The first three episodes are basically just intro to the world. 4 & 5 have some good world building that I think you'll enjoy a little more

Laios promised zon that he’d think about how the orcs fit into a world with Laios as king. Or more broadly why is he an adventurer if he doesn’t care about the ultimate prize of the dungeon?

This is my so far favorite episode in terms of crazy comedic and emotional dramatic balance. Senshi is in life danger and clearly has some serious trauma going on, why was Thistle looking so sad, and even Marcille growing attached to her masterpiece of a skyfish, all perfectly balanced by Izutsumi's chippy comments, Marcille's "piloting" efforts, and Laios's nerdgasm with the familiar modding. And it all flowed flawlessly from laughter to anxiety and back. This is really the point where Kui started to hit her sweet point of comedy-drama balance in the manga and everything after this will only get better!

So i really think you should give the 4th episode a reaction i wasnt 100% sold until i watched episode 4. I think the anime is less about story and more about style and fun moments. But i also think the 4th episode is where we begin to see more to the story. But ultimately its your choice. I like it so far. Im trying not to take it too seriously and just enjoy it for what it is. The animation is fun, and little wild at times, but the voice acting is really good and that ED is pretty funny. I like the opening also. Anyways, overall the anime is good i think. I admittedly thought the 3rd episode was good but not great but the 4th ep really sold it for me. I would be down for more reactions if you continue

I like really alot the voice for all the characters. I like the voice for harley and i think peacemaker voice very good. I think the story is good but not amazing. But i like the show and i like DC. Also, most fantasy stories have *one* major prophecy affecting the plot, interesting that they seem to have a source of multiple prophetic dreams in the winged lion, like with Delgal and Laios thru that winged sword prophecy. Laios is definitely on the spectrum. His is the most commonly recognizable flavor. The author has a history of writing neurodivergent characters, so this isn't coming out of nowhere. He's not the only one, either. I don't mean Chilchuk, Senshi or Marcielle, either. They're quirky but I don't get ASD from any of them. Trauma for sure but not autism.

Just saying this here, Marcille's background primed her to be the most interesting character. She's the magic user, her relationship with Falin is complex, her race is a bit mysterious, her motivations as a researcher are mysterious... and Kui explores all these little bits. Marcille is absolutely my favorite character, she's extreeeeemly well written

The sheep tree thing wasn't made up for the show - it's based on a middle ages mythical creature/plant. I think in reality it was just a type of cotton that sorta looked like wool, and inspired people to think there was a plant that grew sheep. There's another plant that makes a cotton like growth that looks a little like a chicken and had similar stories about it.

It was a really chill (heh) and relaxed episode. On my initial watch I was craving more drama and action after last episode and episode 17 but after some time this episode has grown more and more on me. This show does really well in ingratiating its characters to the viewer, and while Izutsumi is still a brat, she is shown to be capable of growth and caring for her teammates which does wonders to improving the group dynamic with a new member!
