I do have to say that a tree ripened fig is so amazing on its own if you have the right variety. Some taste like mildly sweet mush, but some taste like you dipped a spoon in strawberry/raspberry jam, and some are so syrupy and good as is. The ones you buy in the store had to be picked under-ripe, and they never ripen nicely in a package.

It’s so weird the way Americans try to pronounce caramel- it’s like you’re allergic to the 2nd letter a. Also the figs aren’t even caramelised what you caramelised is the honey. The figs merely briefly sat suspended in it.
