I am now binge watching this every night. I love this channel. I am a country bumpkin from the Adirondacks in NY State and haven't gotten to experience any of this. I have not gotten to leave the states much at all due to having a child.but now that she is 18 I'm ready I would love to experience the foods and the different traditions. I love trying new foods but have not had any experiences like this. When you hear Vietnamese says "cashew oil" for a red colour oil, they actually mean annatto oil. Both of these oil have the same Vietnamese name "điều", so people usually make the mistake. Annatto oil is used a lot in grilling and the famous bún bò Huế, and some Vietnamese curry, while true "cashew oil" is much rarer in Vietnamese cooking.
