The only issue I come across when designing wraps, is customers normally have an issue when I try to explain these points. I give them plenty of information on why it should be changed to the things you have been stating. There is almost always tons of pushback and "This is what I said I wanted" which then leads to the designs coming out how you are seeing them now.

I’m newly starting out in the landscaping industry. I am 18 and already having some good success with my makeshift Wix website, yelp and door to door. I am really looking to grow this season but don’t have to much capital behind me. I already have business cards,door hangers and company shirts. not sure what my next advertisement strategy should be. Would I be better off allocating funds to a wrap or more online advertising. Hey good question Nick! We don’t design wraps but from my research, the best designers I found was Kickcharge Creative. They have really solid stuff and then you can get some local to actually wrap it for you. Other companies do great work as well, just check out some of their past designs and see if there’s anything you like!

Don’t agree with the phone number. I do understand where you’re coming from and it makes sense however we still have the elderly or some boomers that are not computer illiterate. I get calls often about how they saw my truck at a jobsite. Also texting. Some customers feel comfortable texting. I agree about moving the industry forward but still have to be available to the homeowners that don’t rely on the web.

Completely understandable. It makes sense to be open to leads from every direction- as long as it’s not costing you time you could be spending with family. The benefit of the website is it can sell for you 24/7, and you don’t have to man it yourself like you would with a phone call.

I am simply saying I still have older clients that like to use the telephone over the internet. Happens when the vehicle is parked in a neighborhood or a shopping center. And yes people will die over time because BREAKING NEWS people die. We advertise on Yelp, google, Facebook, Instagram because that’s the way of today and the future which I agree. However as long as there’s people still with computer illiteracy I will continue to list the phone. Some people like to speak to actual people as well. 🤷🏽

hey I like the content man but I have a few questions. so I just started a roofing company and thinking about getting my truck wrapped. I saw another video where you said keep it simple as in they need to know what. you do, name of your company and contact info.. but my question is should I put licensed and insured on the truck or what about we offer financing? or none of that and just let them contact me and then ill tell them all of that. sorry dumb question and new to this.

I feel like qr codes are old news. Is it really easier to scan one than to punch in a phone number or tell Siri to take you to the website while driving? It depends on what your business is, of course. I personally believe the 2 biggest values a wrap does for your business is brand recognition and the added credibility. The QR code will just add clutter to the average wrap, although it isn't likely going to hurt or help your brand/credibility. QR code makes more sense to me on the back of business cards, mailers or pamphlets.

We generally like to avoid them on trucks. The goal of the wrap is not to have someone see the wrap and immediately reach out. It's to build familiarity with your brand.

I understand what you’re saying but you may be limiting your audience by removing telephone number. Also what research do you have to back this up? I will look up a website and then email a company about one hundred times before I'll willingly pick up the phone as the first point of contact. Even if I were to see a vehicle sporting info on a service/product I was interested in and it only listed a phone number, I'd look them up on the internet to find a website first. YMMV.

Ok… 2yrs later the info in the video is dated. Even major corporations add their social media info to their advertising. Websites are almost of things of the past, and phone# is way more important for point of contact then websites. The gentlemen making this video, seems very educated. But he’s off base on a lot of key points. Tags lines are nice, but your wrap should have some of the important key facts about what service your company provides. Simple is for sure always better. But KEY information is essential

Depends on the form of advertising. Social media links/handles are only useful *IF* the company spends time, effort, and money to do it right, and is consistent with it long-term. For example, starting an IG account when the company is new, posting sporadically for the first few months, and then abandoning it. A potential customer looking at that account a few years later is going to have questions (such as, "are they even in business any more?!"), and any sense of trust they might have had will be shaken. One reason for focusing on the tagline rather than the "what" is that the tagline appeals to emotions (a _good_ tagline, that is). When a vehicle is in traffic, potential customers don't usually have more than a few seconds to read the information, so a large amount of text is useless because they won't have had time to read more than a couple of words. "Key information is essential" - and that's why the business name and logo, the tagline, the website URL and the overall design of the wrap *are* the most important pieces of information. Done properly, that information draws the potential customer's attention, and then the website does its job of providing enough details needed to entice the potential customer to contact the business. Good marketing doesn't talk about what a company can do for you - it demonstrates that the company knows what your problems are and that they have the solutions.

My last tuck died at 600 plus K . No wraps and paint all over it from my painting trade/business. I purchased for 3k From the day I purchased it until the day it died, it got me to work every day, never let me down, and my mechanic only fixed what was necessary. I could have purchased a fancy truck and put wraps on it. It might make me look good when I am stuck in traffic, but after a hard days work, the only thing I am thinking about is my honey who loves me for who I am and how I perform and not what my truck looks like. Long story short, my client confronted me on the day it died and said there was oil all over the drive way. The rear oil seal broke. When the project was all said and done with, I asked the client why he hired me. He said my tools in the back of the truck and the cost of them were the true sign of a professional and priorities. Respects to all blue collar people like me and their other half who loves and honors them for doing the best they can in their trade. It all about performance. Not what a truck looks like.

Love the thought here man! I did not know that. The only problem then is that most homeowners wouldn’t know that either. In that case, the best thing would be to replace it with something the homeowner does recognize as eco-friendly

@@ContractorGrowthNetwork I get that most people wouldn't know that but he is targeting the ones who prefer it, they pay double or triple for their landscape needs to be done in the greenest way possible, California just outlawed the sale of gas powered lawn eqipmet, all the commercial equipment makers are scrambling to make commercial lines of equipment that are battery powered. One of my companies is a Commercial landscape company that only does Apartment complexes and HOA's but I am in Texas where business comes first and environment comes last but I need to keep up with the changing Industry standards. Residential weekly accounts run $40-150. if you advertise no emissions equipment it goes up to $80-240 depending on the size of the lot and dedication to the principal. It is much more time consuming and expensive to go GREEN, for the Homeowner and the Contractor! We are just getting into wrapping our trucks, thats how I found your video. I am gambling on the very large QR code on the vehicle side and tail gate, what do you think about that? It will be included with a general photo wrap with company name so they have a gist of what they are being linked to when they scan the QR with their phones. One large 18"x18" on the side and one on the tailgates of the trucks that is about 12"x12"

I would say QR codes can be beneficial, but not at the cost of clarity around who you are and what you do. Love that they allow tracking so you can see what leads come from the wrap. If you feel they don't take away from the rest of the wrap, then go for it.
