@@brianna2352 I’m gonna be honest, you’re right. They shouldn’t tell her to give up on art for a drawing, but then again, they aren’t wrong about the same face syndrome. I’m an artist, and kooleen’s art here looks so dull and soulless. Especially Sparkle, I didn’t even realize it was her. I like her art, but this ain’t it for me chief. The first problem I have is the dull colors, she should use more brighter ones. Or. Mix both bright and dull, that’s like, what every single artist does anyways. The second and most prominent problem is the same face-syndrome. She should experiment on the heads and face, like changing the eye size, shape, etc. And even though she may have same face syndrome, it’s not hard to make the characters look distinguishable. For example; Chainsaw Man’s art. At first glance, the character’s faces do look the same, but they still are distinguishable. You could tell the difference between Angel Devil and Makima, despite them having similar faces. Kooleen’s art here looks like the same character just cosplaying other characters. Guinafen was cute though, I like the way she drew her. And the third, is that it art looks unfinished. I think it’s because she focuses way more on the face and hair and the body and proportions were the second part. She struggles a lot with proportions as well. (Even me, I also struggle with proportions unfortunately but I’m trying to fix them) I think that’s all the stuff I have to say for her. I won’t deny, she’s a very talented artist. But even then, talented artists can have their ups and downs. Also, kooleen does not deserve the hate. Looking through these comments, it’s mostly all just hate or something dumb instead of good criticism. And if you call them out on it, they always say ‘oh it’s just criticism!!!’ No, that’s insult badly disguised as ‘criticism’ People these days are way too toxic, once an artist or a person they don’t like makes a mistake they’ll bash on em. TL;DR: kooleen doesn’t deserve the hate, just good criticism + She has same face syndrome on her art that is true just as the comment says.

@@vampifyyy Agreed with everything you've said. Unfortunately, people are rude as hell. Koleen has decent art already-learning some fundamentals & changing up her palettes (maybe her brushes, too?) would be a game-changer for a decent amount of "issues". The same face thing could be a stylistic choice, and if I remember correctly, she's said that she only draws pretty people because they're easier to draw (I cannot provide a source on this, so take this with a grain of salt). With that in mind, the same-face syndrome makes sense, and that's her prerogative. To be honest, I understand the hate because of all the controversy she's been in, but there's a point where people need to let go & ignore her if they don't like her or her content. Hating on her only makes it seem like it's okay to hate on other artists (it's not okay to dog on Koleen for her art, either, of course) who are only doing their best and need/want constructive criticism, not blind hate because they draw everyone "blandly" or "lifelessly". Seeing the state of "the art community"-🙄-makes me quite annoyed. You can tell they're all either children or immature adults because after a certain point in your life, you decide that some stuff just isn't worth your time anymore, and you choose to ignore it. People forget to cultivate their online experience and it shows. That, and they desperately need to get off TikTok.

Tbh, most people portray Kooleen as a bad person, but I don’t think she is. She’s an entertainer, and that’s perfectly fine. A little ignorant when it comes to certain topics, but everyone makes mistakes and she learns from it. (Like the whole side profile tutorial thingy, she made a follow-up video on it discussing her mistake and that’s a good thing👍)

Koleen's done and said a lot of questionable things, but everyone blows it way out of proportion I feel. It's 100% the effect of cancel culture. I've never watched Koleen much, only a few videos, and I've never even heard of her until a few weeks ago, but you're right, she's an entertainer, and she does her job well. I don't know much about her controversy, but it all seems pretty mild & a side-effect of ignorance (like you stated) rather than of malicious intent. But then again, I don't know her personally. No one does. Her art is fine, too. I don't get the hate on it (probably a mix of people hating her & disliking sameface syndrome); it's not drop-dead gorgeous like some other styles, but it's pretty and modern. If she doesn't want to change up the faces, that's her choice-if she does, great, that's also her choice. Either way, people will do their thing and bully other people. On the internet, there's no reasoning with a majority of them, so I'm not going to continue to try. Thank you for your responses! Like I said earlier, it was a nice change of pace :D
