Well... I wanted to update my found in home mid cent. Cabinets with this trend and then I have stripped them from old lacquer and I have put new one and then it hit me - no new updates, what I have been thinking. So my old vintage stuff are looking cool without any extra modern painting over.

I agree, if you do the classic terrazzo and it fits to the era your house is build in then it can look beautiful but the “modern” terrazzo can easily look cheap and tacky.

Agree with all of you. Terrazzo is a classic and when people are done wigging out with the tables and backsplashes and washroom overkill, it´ll still be there, quietly, underfoot ;)

Sorry, 19th-century Terrazzo? I mean, yeah it's been around for a long time, It's polished aggregate in cement, but stylistically and what the "trend" is calling back to is definitely modern styles-- art deco and midcentury specifically. It's fine that she doesn't like it but it really doesn't seem like she's well informed on it, also it seems like she's blanketly talking about terrazzo while really talking about a specific modern trend-- super-stylized, chunky, and colorful terrazzo and faux terrazzo.

I come from Slovakia where terrazzo was very popular in the 70s thanks to fading functionalism and start of modern and monumental architecture. Therefore i love this material which was used mainly on the floors from historic reason. I have to say I really enjoy its comeback in our regions, however the stone fractures we use are smaller, not as colorful hence the material looks much more united and classier than what you have shown in your reference photos. I believe it won't be outdated anytime soon, at least in Europe.

How about you do some videos on the design and designers you love and why? You’ve mentioned some on Instagram, maybe do more of a deep dive into why they’re good? Your taste is spot on and commentary so refreshing, I’d love to see it. Your take on the Real housewives was hilarious. I once had a striped wall. White with deep, warm yellow. (Between corn & cheddar. Maybe like mango..) The door frames in that room were painted in that same "juicy" yellow. ☆ I loved it. ♡

Gonnnnna have to disagree with you on the Terrazzo. Terrazzo is timeless when done correctly.

Not timeless, it will be so dated in a few years. If you like it then go for it but it's such a specific look it will go out of style. It's only timeless if you will love it forever but try and sell your house with it in a few years and it'll be someone else's hang up or a drawback.

All of these yes! The terrazzo of today is not what it used to be, as with almost all things. Love your videos, keep keeping it real🪩 Omg love that girl for making those pieces! Ive always wanted a needlepoint pillow that says something like “eat a*$” maybe that soap dish is it✨

i genuinely believe that things become un-trendy when people redo their whole houses in one specific style, i think the fun thing about designing your home is that you can pick things up as you go, not buying everything at once because the new boho-chic trend is in. mixing and matching styles and things you like will 100% look better than buying everything within a sole aesthetic

I like terrazzo, colorful or not, and the geometric thing on the walls, I think it's an affordable and easy way to change things up. A lot of college kids here in my country usually go for it in their places, exactly bcs of that. But I agree with everything else.

I do feel bad when I see beautiful MCM furniture that has been painted in such a faddy way. If you want to paint furniture, fine--please paint pieces that are on their last leg, are ugly, are broken, have pieces of veneer stripped off, and so on. I have a piece of furniture I painted. I bought it for $20 at the Goodwill. It is (was) a gun cabinet--now it's a glass-fronted book cabinet.

I spent weeks repainting two MCM pieces. But they had both been badly painted first. Of one them had the veneer ruined underneath the paint once I got it off. It did take me ages though…hope they aren’t going to go out of fashion in a minute. 🤦‍♀️
