The most ironic thing about Subway is that on top of being able to go to Walmart and easily make the same sandwich for half the price, that subway is usually in that same Walmart at the door.
@-desertpackrat9 ай бұрын
And it's faster to buy the Walmart one. I took my friend camping and she bought all this food but then wanted subway when we got to the toen where we were camping near, so we went to Walmart and I waited in the car for like _forty five minutes_ for her to order a subway sandwich and a soda. so we could go to a campsite and unpack our three coolers worth of drinks and food and two campstoves she makes me drag along, and then sit there and eat a cold sandwich in the woods. And I don't mind Subway but like damn, she has like an addiction to spending too much money on subpar food and driving out of the way for it when we're already on our way somewhere to make dinner. The next day we went to get firewood in town and she wanted to go to KFC but instead she bought gigantic chicken tenders at the Safeway deli 😂 I wound up not even cooking anything we brought except breakfast. She says she like regularly gets up at midnight or 1 am and gots to this Whataburger that's open very late because she's so addicted to Whataburger she just wakes up craving it constantly. I can't imagine being that hooked on nasty fast food 😂 it's okay like a few times a month, not all the time.

As a subway fan whos tasted all the series premade sandwiches (theyre bad. just make ur own one) i never got why people always said its so expensive, i feel like everyone orders the bare minimum, like, if youre going to order a sandwich with turkey and tomato then of course ur gonna get pissed at the fact that its expensive for what it is, the jig of subway is that you can put as much veggies in there as you can cramp your big fat mouth with. I personally order almost all of the veggies because that means i can have a sandwich with all the stuff i like for like half the price if i were to buy the ingredients at walmart. Also, theres a wide variety of things in there, you can put guacamole, jalapeños, fried onions heck you can even put P e s t o s a u c e on these sandwiches. Also "Precooked microwaved chicken????" theyre precooked, ill give it that, but microwaved???, in my local subwayS they all use a neat little mini oven to toast your sandwich. Also you can basically get chips/cookie/weird patterned french fries and a soda with a sandwich for n i n e d o l l a r s. I will die in this hill.

There's something so surgically spot on about Huggbee's thoughts on Culver's that it physically hurts The food is amazing, the selection of food is amazing, their frozen custard is amazing, but GOD they really need to branch out their menu items more; The one notable gimmick they do every fall is their pumpkin pie shake and, from what else I've seen, nothing else Oh yeah, they got rid of their sweet and sour sauce a little while ago and I haven't forgave them for it since Edit: Because this comment somehow got semi-popular I might as well extend my thoughts to a couple of other fast food joints I ate at before. Portillo's isn't necessarily "overrated" per say (At least, I think so compared to In-And-Out and Chikfila), but I assume after Insider Food's video on the cake shake, they pretty much became famous for that rather than a portion of their other foods; The hot dogs are pretty good (There are better Chicago style hot dogs out there, but for a chain restaurant they're pretty good), the onion rings and chicken strips slap hard, and the fries are fine. Quick tip for people wanting to go to Portillo's to eat: I don't recommend getting a burger, last time I had one it was like a flattened a piece of charcoal and put it on a bun with some cheese. Also Dairy Queen's food is good... Depending on the location from what I've heard. It's really isn't bad food, but the only two notable things I'd really recommend people have besides their ice cream is the chicken strip basket dinner (NOT the rotisserie-style chicken bites dinner, the strips are where it's at) and the onions rings, it's downright criminal how good DQ's country gravy is.

As a former trucker, Wawa is the single greatest thing in the universe. When I started working local instead of OTR, and I was finally in my area, and around a bunch of Wawa's instead of the middle of Arizona or Chicagoland I was in heaven. The parking lots were large enough for me to fit the truck and trailer in, whether they had accommodation or not. You can use the bathroom, which was usually cleaner than Amazon's, if the location I was at that night was even open. I could get myself a Monster, any snacks I wanted, and if I wanted something to eat that would be less likely to send me off the NJ-DE bridge from cardiac arrest. It was awesome. Most locations would even let me get a free cup to put nuggets or pretzels or whatever so I could have a snack cup while driving. Auntie Ann's makes the best road snacks, but when that runs out in 15 minutes because you have no self control, Wawa will be there for you every 50 or so miles to keep you fat and happy. And yeah, they're all over the east coast. So as a commercial driver, it's always there. No "damn, my only options are McDonald's or Arby's... again". If I'm on a tight schedule and need to stop at a specific time, planning to stop at a Wawa was perfect. The best part is that other truckers never got hip to the game. I can only guess it's because they're not from the Delmarva and don't think they can get their rigs in there. You can get in just about anywhere if you're willing to take 25+ minutes to do it lol. Whataburger used to be an B+ A- student before the new owners took it over. Before the new owners, Whataburger made consistently good food which you could always rely on being good, but nowadays since they have switched to cheaper ingredients you can rely on Whataburger being consistently "meh, it's decent I guess". The fact that they still beat out most other fast food joints despite switching to using cheaper ingredients shows how crappy other fast food joints are.

My grandfather worked on production for some of the KFC commercials during the 1970’s, and actually worked with Sanders himself. Funny story: The company knew that the colonel was going to die at some point, (he was getting old) and it would be in extremely bad taste to broadcast a commercial with the Colonel in it after he died. So, to cut costs, they decided to film two commercials at once. When Sanders was on a break, they would bring another guy on to act in his place. The Colonel, of course, shouldn’t know about this second commercial. So, my granddad was in charge of alerting the set that Sanders was returning so they could hide his replacement. Luckily, they never had to air the second commercial.

They didn’t say anything to me, but when I got back from lunch everyone one was like “OMG WHAT DID YOU DO!?!” Come to find out they lied and said that I cursed them out and threatened their lives, and that I should be fired immediately. As someone who worked at Taco Bell for almost a year, everything said about Taco Bell in this video is 100% accurate
@darthmeticulous6901 Жыл бұрын
I did it for 7 years. I witnessed that “menu purge” in 2019 and left last year. Probably the best decision I’ve made so far. Sadly. they’re only going to get cheaper until someone finally takes enough of their profits to force them to try harder as HuggBees said. Sad really, from what I understand, they used to be a rather authentic Tex-Mex restaurant. But greed destroyed that and turned them into boring, overpriced slop. The worst part is so much of it, especially what they’ve kept, can be easily made at home for less money. Why would I waste around $13 for four Chili Cheese Burritos there, when I can make those same for, using REAL chili and adding Chili Cheese Fritos, for less than HALF that cost? Also, my method tastes 10 times better. A Taco 12pk? They charge $15 in my area for that, I’ve made the same 12 for $6-$8 at home and they tasted 5 times better. I successfully recreated the Beefy Crunch Burritos (around $5 I estimate to make four of them instead of the $9-$10 they would charge nowadays) and I’m pretty sure I can make those $5 quesadillas for half that amount. I’ve realized over the last decade how much of a ripoff TB is. They’re like the Subway of Tex-Mex… overpriced and pointless. Kind of embarassing how much money they still make these days after learning all of this.

This whole “pictures instead of words” on a menu is so stupid to me. You want smooth communication between employees and customers in drive-thru, so why design your menu so people don’t know what’s actually in the product, and therefore start asking questions, therefore running up your times. Granted, some people don’t read the menu, but I guarantee keeping a list of ingredients would at least help SOME people, so there would be less people ordering an item, then immediately asking what is in it. Then again, Americans seem to think pictures are more appealing than words. Makes me question how little imagination some of them actually have.

I greatly appreciate the "Fuck you, Taco Bell" and the reasoning for it. I used to rather like Taco Bell - extremely cheap food for something not made at home, decent selection, and frequent little specialties like the fried tacquitos they used have which were great if you mixed their hottest sauce into the cheese polymer tub, or the Daredevil Grillers, which introduced me to how good ghost pepper tastes. Then in 2019, they tore nearly everything good or interesting from the menu, including my old favourite of the double-decker taco. It seems Mr. Bees is also quite displeased with that action, as well as the wildly overhyped and profoundly disappointing Nacho Fries (which when introduced I thought would be like crunchy corn friends with tasty powder on them for dipping in cheese polymer or perhaps a more interesting sauce, rather the intense boredom of slightly zesty potato fries).

Almost all fast food chains are strict with food safety especially because you only get extra health department inspections for being lax if a 5 star restaurant gets hit the get 2 extra inspections a year for awhile if a chain gets hit you multiply that number by the number of restaurants then add one inspection for every not A rating they get so someone like chick fil a gets tens of thousands of extra random inspections

I thought it was pretty good for a fast food burger when I had one.

Their root beer is iconic lol. A&W also brought along the veggie burger boom when they introduced beyond meat. They were so popular I couldn’t get my hands on one for months!
