(R.I.P Stephen Hillenburg) Post Movie SpongeBob Seasons 4-13+ has just as many great episodes and quotes as Seasons 1-3 and the first movie.. Also, Sponge On The Run was a fun emotional watch and Kamp Korral is funny( Are You Afraid Of The Dork is a great Halloween episode watch like Legend Of Boo-kini Bottom and SpongeBob ScardyPants) . Really admire the creative freedom of the Patrick Star Show and thanks for pointing out the Vincent Waller quote that Steve knew about Kamp Korral.

Sure ppl grow up and their tastes change, but u also have to consider what can still make u laugh and feel engaged when u watch it years later vs what can't. Drake and Josh for example, that show genuinely still holds up really well and I think it's one of those shows u could still enjoy with or without a nostalgic attachment. I don't think the same could be said about Henry Danger and Game Shakers

My hot take: I think the Thundermans is for the most part a very enjoyable show. The dynamic with Phoebe and Max was great, Dr. Colosso was a hilarious character, and there was always a lot of energy in the show. And the event episodes were handled very well. I have a lot more to share about Disney Channel, honestly.

YES! I am so glad that someone mentioned Big Time Rush! My hot take: BTR got jatted by Nick...they were promoted only as a TV boy band and not an actual boy band. So many people have hated on them cause they're "for kids". I absolutely love BTR and I'm so glad one of my favorite creators does too!!

I completely agree with your take that people say Nick was at its best when they were a child watching Nick. Also, it's annoying af to see grown adults complaining about kid's shows nowadays when they're not the target demographic. I think this goes for every channel or just stuff in general. Like how boomers look fondly of the 50s, Gen X loves the 70s, Millennials rave over the 90s, etc.

I can definitely get behind the hot take about Icarly not being very funny. I do agree that people who grew up with a show are more likely to ignore the criticisms similar to the ones they give to the newer shows. That being said, yes I'll admit iCarly isn't funny at many points but there are plenty of jokes that have a clever setup that still make me laugh. I can still find good qualities in some of the current nickcoms like Erin and Aaron, so it's not all bias from nostalgia. I can also explain why I don't find Side Hustle or Game Shakers funny or why I don't like the characters without grasping at straws to defend the ones I grew up with.

Hell yeah! All Grown Up is SO good and I actually have all episodes downloaded from ages ago. Sure it has it's low points but i feel it is such a wholesome show and it gives more of a dynamic to the characters while still making them likable. Even Angelica, while she still can be pushy towards the others, is much more likable in this series

I was a part of the henry danger era but still had icarly and stuff and I have to disagree. On rewatches, what makes icarly funny was the groundedness mixed with the randomness. Like you pulled a clip of the april fools special, but that was extra zany and weird, cos yk, april fools. Whereas every episode of henry danger feels like that. Although characters like charlotte and piper, especially piper, that were more grounded had more funny scenes.

Side Hustle is my favorite Nickelodeon sitcom ever! I'm so disappointed that it got cancelled after just two seasons. The show had great characters, it was actually funny, and the concept of the show was really creative. A lot of the newer Nickelodeon shows like I Am Frankie, Warped, and the animated Monster High series are much better than people think they are and the newer Nickelodeon shows are my favorite. The only older Nickelodeon shows I like are Victorious and True Jackson VP. Modern Nickelodeon has the best shows in my opinion.

I actually don't really care about iCarly, I tried to watch it a few times but it was never very interesting to me (but I can understand why others like it). The only thing I liked about Sam & Cat was Sam & Cat's friendship, but the writing in that show just wasn't that great to me. And I have never seen the other shows you mentioned, but I've heard of them. A lot of people have said that shows like Drake and Josh, Big Time Rush, The Amanda Show, Kenan and Kel, and All That are really good, but I didn't grow up with them and I never got around to watching them as I was too preoccupied with watching Nick's newer shows lol. But I'm sure they are pretty good, I just haven't seen them yet.

This might come from someone who's more of a casual fan, but I honestly think The Loud House is still a solid good series. Mainly because compared to other Nicktoons such as Spongebob, this series knows how to give characters some development over the seasons such as Lola being more of a remorseful sweetheart than just stuck to be a selfish brat.

The thing about SpongeBob for me is that I want it to end more out of principle than quality at this point, like I don't think any cartoon should go on as long as it has. The idea of a show just never ending, never having a conclusion, never haivng a moment for the general public at large to move on from it just doesn't sit right with me. And it continuing has screwed other shows over time and time again, like if SB did ever end, I'd be hopeful that new shows and new talent would have the opportunity to rise to it's ranks (though then I guess we'd run into the same problem for 20-30 more years).

Hot Take #1: Kamp Koral is just as good and funny as the classic SpongeBob episodes everyone loves. It's better than The Patrick Star Show and doesn't deserve the same level of hate. Hot Take #2: Butch Hartman should have the rights to Danny Phantom because Nickelodeon aren't doing anything with it and Butch Hartman has come up with interesting ways to continue the series, even giving Valerie a spinoff. Hot Take #3: Nickelodeon should be for adults only. They have Nick Jr for toddlers, NickToons for children, TeenNick & Totally Teen on Pluto for teens/young adolescents, but nothing for grown ups doing the day.

My hot take on Nickelodeon is that the hate for the 2009 logo was absolutely ridiculous. While imo, the 90s and 2000s logo was more iconic, but at the same time I personally got used to the logo overtime. If I got to be honest, although I find the new logo really unique, I feel like it was praised way too much. Considering how Nickelodeon was pandered by critics for years up until they brought back the splat. The channel still needs more original shows and more variety of the schedule. (Even if Cable is declining)

The difference is that Icarly actually had a plot with every episode. Yes the randomness is part of the appeal but it isn’t just “randomness with no correlation for 22 minutes”. Name a plot from icarly, 9 out of 10 times I’ll remember it. People still find randomness funny. Even Drake and Josh had bits of randomness. There just has to be actual structure to balance it. So the randomness can actually feel random and funny and not the whole show. Thats why most shows that rely almost solidly on random humor doesn’t last very long unless it’s a sketch comedy show. Not a fan of Henry Danger but I would atleast give it credit for trying to tell a story along with the randomness of it too.

Hot take: 100 things to do before high school is not a ripoff of Ned's declassified. For one it's created by the same guy. And for another it gives an entirely different perspective on going through middle school. Neds declassified was all about the cons of it and surviving through it whereas 100 things was about enjoying and savoring your time and the pros of it. 100 things is way better than people give it credit for.

Hot take Nickelodeon is becoming BET’s award show hot spot Nick @ nite will be gone very very soon and replaced with MTV or BET or VH1 content. Even a combination of all three of the channels’ content would be a consideration if nick @ nite ended .

My hot take about Nick is that unless they can get higher ups that actually care about the medium of animation and won’t shove new shows onto nicktoons after like 2 episodes, I rather Nick primarily focus on their live action stuff and stop making new animated content in the meantime with SpongeBob and it’s spin-offs being the one exception.The way the network has treated animation over the past few years has been genuinely upsetting to the point where I rather Nick just stop making new animated content in general than see them constantly screw over many new animated series that had potential to them cause “they aren’t as popular as The Sponge”

I grew up in the Sam & Cat/Every Witch Way/Thundermans era and i think that all of those shows were enjoyable and I always thought that besides I Am Frankie and Drama Club new nick has been unwatchable and cringey. But honestly after watching this i started to evaluate that even though i still hate most of modern nick maybe it isnt enioyable because its not nostalgic. I mean i even have nostalgia for early seasons of iCarly and True Jackson because of the reruns id catch on teennick. And maybe just maybe the shows are pretty enjoyable for younger audiences. But then again cable is declining and I have yet to hear a child say "I really like that Young Dylan show"

My hot take: Mr. Friend from that one Rugrats episode did nothing wrong whatsoever, and yet they were buried alive and their kind was brutally massacred by the babies. I honestly feel bad for Mr. Friend and don’t really think he is terrifying tbh (like you know it is bad when they made Angelica look like a saint compared to the other babies).

I can get behind all the one about Drake and Josh being clouded in nostalgia. It's really doesn't still hold up. Also I will stand by this but the best schneider's bakery show wasn't even a Nick show it's What I Like About You and while it has it's problems it wasn't a show targeting kids so.
