I'm actually stoked on this news. Rob is a pretty cool dude. He's been on Zetro's pod and came across pretty genuine. The Rob fronted lps are pretty decent and he did a really good job live. As long as the bank,oops I mean Slayer,doesn't tour and pull Gary away again.

Zetro and Dukes are great friends and Zetro has vocal issues at this time(and others), But Dukes was asked back in because He is a great front man for them, also the album their making is going to include Dukes on it. My sources say this was actually being tossed around for a bit. I am very excited for this being that both were great era singers.

Listen, Steve was is and was still good. His voice is the classic thrash metal genre. And his songs do seem quality. Its not my particular vibe, like even with Overkill and other singers that are that pitch and IDK why he is leaving, but when Exodus got rid of Rob Dukes, I was pissed for real. Rob has a unique voice, attitude, aggression that I really became fond of. I think if the had both of them I wouldn't care at this point, why not have both. But Rob Dukes coming back is really bad ass and I want to see them live with him.

I'm excited. I like both Zetro and Dukes but I think the timing is right for Dukes to rejoin. The last few Exodus albums were fine, but nothing I found myself going back to. The 3 albums with Dukes are by far Exodus' most brutal albums along with Tempo. So I'm intrigued to see what the next album sounds like. I remember they had Blood In, Blood Out already recorded with Dukes before Zetro rejoined in 2014. I wonder how far along they are with this new album.

While I like Exodus, I have never cared for Zetro's vocals. They are so good musically...but then the goblin voice starts and it really kills a lot of their tunes for me. I'm glad they got a former member in Dukes to come back..as opposed to getting another new guy. Exodus are great...but I feel like their vocals have always held them back. Although, even with Zetro in the band, I'd still replace Anthrax with Exodus in the Big 4. Anthrax have never done it for me. I like a couple of the John Bush albums...but that is about it.

that goblin voice has turned me off from them and bands like overkill , Kreator and several others had that nasal goblin - voice. nothing against him, but i just don't find Zet a particularly interesting singer.

Awesome news. Zetro is obviously a legend, but Dukes sounds much better for modern Exodus. Exhibit A and B are modern thrash at its best. The last couple with Zetro really didn’t hold up, I think Dukes could help bring some of that back.

They kicked him out because they were having a lot of arguments during the making of BIBO. They couldn't agree on the direction and Chuck then suggested Zetro.

@@Gregbaltzer I've read into all of it at some point, but it was a long time ago and is partially a blur now. I do remember that he wasn't happy with how the new music comes out. However, if I remember correctly when talking about it he was able to convey a feeling that the way they ignored his complaints hints at some shady s#it. Like some decisions were already being in the making at some point. "Creative" but really business decisions.

@MickAshMetalMan I was just reading on it. The full thing is on Blabbermouth. He complained the songs all sounded the same and he had issues with Jack's producing. Because Jack would have he do full remakes of his vocals, while Sneap wouldn't because he knew how to copy and paste the vocals. Lol. I personally think there's something to be said about nailing a performance instead of doing an okay job and just fixing it in production. Nailing a performance is the old school way, and Rob didn't like that I guess.

Well this absolutely ruined my day.. Nothing against dukes he is an amazing vocalist, but he is more of a modern metal vocalist which does not work for Exodus. The dukes albums are ok but it never felt like Exodus to me. I have always said Zetro is the ony singer for Exodus and I stand by that!!!!

Its been 20 years since shovel headed came out (my personal fav exodus record) and they already reissued ALL the dukes era records on vinyl this past november. I pre-ordered shovel headed and got lucky and found the Atrocity A reissue at a record store but itd be cool if they did something extra special for shovel headeds 20th.

Worst news I’ve heard in a long time. Yeah I like the albums Dukes was on and I don’t dislike the guy or his vocals. It just doesn’t feel like Exodus hearing him sing the classic songs live. It’s not about whether he did a good job in the albums he was on. I am seeing them at a fest coming up where they are doing a bonded by blood set. Yes I know Sousa wasn’t on that album either but I was stoked to hear him sing those songs. Now I am looking forward to it a lot less and I don’t even want them to headline the fest at this point. So whether or not Dukes was good on the albums is irrelevant. I like the 2 Judas Priest albums with Tim Owens but that doesn’t mean I’d be stoked to see him back in Judas Priest. The live performances are just as or more important

WTF is Gary Holt doing? Dukes was such an unpopular vocalist the first time around that he ended up getting fired from the band. Most of the fans didn't like Dukes very much, whether he deserved the criticism or not. This looks like Einstein's definition of insanity (the one attributed to him). Repeating the same action and expecting a different result.

Im over Exodus. I enjoyed Shovelheaded Kill Machine, but the last Exodus album I really loved was Tempo of The Damned. Their albums have become over produced, bloated, and 40 years with zero growth as a band. Its the same thing over and over. Tired of all these thrash bands going for 30-40 years and just making the same album over and over.
