When Holt became a Slayer member I was really sad, I didn't know the guy and it felt like Slayer had Hanneman replaced. With the years I started appreciating Holt more and more...without him Slayer couldn't continue, and as a fan I feel like that's what metal's about.

TRUE STORY: When I was in the Air Force I went to a mall in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and they had a music store with nothing but bootleg cassette tapes. LOL I saw Exodus 'Bonded By Blood', and I shit you not, because of the super-strict Muslim laws over there regarding showing of the body, the 2 babies on the cover of the album had clothes literally drawn on them with a marker!!! It was hilarious! It was crazy - if there was still room left on the tape, they would just throw some other random band on there to fill it up...

I live in Saudi and I blast Exodus and other stuff loudly in the car and at home. I also wear my Tempo of the Damned t-shirt that I got when I saw Exodus in Virginia in 2007. Now Saudi is much less strict, Exodus can come play here without any problem as long as there is no blasphemy in the lyrics. I'm a Moroccan thrasher and black metal head.

My roommate was over there on his rotation & someone threw a pipe bomb over the wall of the hotel where all the foreign military people stayed right as they were all filing out to get on the buses that took us to Prince Sultan Airbase each morning/night(we worked 12 hour shifts 7 days a week)... he was pretty shook up afterwards! He said they went running back inside while there were chunks of concrete raining down... pretty bad stuff.

The most Underrated Metal Guitarist of all time. Gary Holt blows my mind. He's such an amazing Riff God. This interview reveals how humble he is. Fuck this guy is awesome. I hope he keeps melting faces with the riff's he writes with Exodus. It's no wonder Slayer chose him to step in.

I met Gary in 89 on the Mtv Headbangers ball tour. I met a really cool Navajo who got me stoned then we played stickball with Exodus,anthrax and helloween at the Utah State Fair park. One of the best days of my life!!!

I’ve always though Rob Dukes was a very strong addition to Exodus when he joined. Zetro I didn’t feel was fit and Paul may he rest in peace. His vocals were powerful and unique and a great fit for the band and excellent in Generation Kill, but I still think Exodus should bring Rob back.

Zetro is old school, classic thrash nostalgia, which is good. Rob's furious singing took the band to the limits of thrash; the Exhibit records were almost extreme metal like. I, personally, prefer Rob's style.

Thank God for Gary Holt. IMO Exodus should have been one of the big 4, still, because of him, we got 6 more years of Slayer, the greatest HM band of all time. No one else could have replaced Jeff Hanneman better than Holt!
