The issue with the Hadith is the English language, the word incantation means a series of words that are said to cast a magic spell like how a wizard casts a fireball so incantation insinuates that what's meant hear is black magic but that completely incorrect The word in Arabic is Ruqya which was translated into incantation because it's the closes one but Ruqya isn't about casting magic spells, Ruqya is somewhat like Dua or a prayer where it's used for healing purposes only

100%. You are correct. Incantation is used in the translation but the chapter headings specifically mention ruqyah. While we are mostly used to thinking of ruqyah as recitation of Quran (for healing) it is quite apparent that dua (reciting a healing prayer) was also used. Christians with their laying on of hands practice this.

For people who don't know, Ruqya means that when we have a person possessed by the jinn, we recite some verses of the Quran on him and make duaa for him to be healed, but Ruqya not just for people possessed by the jinn, we can do Ruqya for any person who has any type of physical or mental illness, At the end it's just a duaa for him to be healed by Allah, not a black magic or something like this guy thinks.

Yes it has nothing to do with black magic they used to read verses of Qur'an on them, the prophet in the begginging he didn't know what they were reciting and when they presented the Ruqya to him he said I don't see anything wrong with this and he allowed it. so he didn't contradict himself nor did he allow black magic this guy is crasy!

The answer is simple. The prophet may have prohibitied certain types of incantations and the sahaba took it generally and included even reciting ayah as healing and the prophet simply cleared up their confusion. Even if the prophet prohibited something earlier and then allowed it, its not because he was going against Allah's command eg the prophet initially prohibited writing hadith and then allowed it later because of a wisdom he saw fit.

No brother! You don't understand. You don't actually discuss the issue, that's not wise! (as yassir qahdi would say).. The best tactic is just to make fun or Rob , like laugh about his appearance , his obesity etc, or say some "whatabouts" from the Christian bible. But do not actually try to defend the hadith,that's just drawing attention to it and that's a mistake.

For anyone confused, the prophet ﷺ at the beginning of the dawah prohibited visiting the graves and preforming ruqyah. They were then made permissible after some time. The ruqyah they use to use had statements of shirk in them. After some time when the sahabah became grounded in understanding tawheed and shirk. The prophet ﷺ then allowed ruqyah so long as it contained no shirk. This was then named Ar-ruqyah Ash-shariyah. Auf b. Malik Ashja'i reported we use to practise (ruqyah) incantation in the pre-Islamic days and we said: O Messenger of Allah, what is your opinion about it? He said: present me know your (ruqyah) incantation (then) said: There is no harm in ruqyah which does not contain in it polytheism. حَدَّثَنِي أَبُو الطَّاهِرِ، أَخْبَرَنَا ابْنُ وَهْبٍ، أَخْبَرَنِي مُعَاوِيَةُ بْنُ صَالِحٍ، عَنْ عَبْدِ الرَّحْمَنِ، بْنِ جُبَيْرٍ عَنْ أَبِيهِ، عَنْ عَوْفِ بْنِ مَالِكٍ الأَشْجَعِيِّ، قَالَ كُنَّا نَرْقِي فِي الْجَاهِلِيَّةِ فَقُلْنَا يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ كَيْفَ تَرَى فِي ذَلِكَ فَقَالَ ‏ "‏ اعْرِضُوا عَلَىَّ رُقَاكُمْ لاَ بَأْسَ بِالرُّقَى مَا لَمْ يَكُنْ فِيهِ شِرْكٌ ‏"‏ ‏.‏ Saheeh Muslim 2200

This Hadith is About Ruqya . The Spiritual Way Of Healing . if You Heal By Reciting Quran It's Halal And If You Do Black magic Stuff It's Haram And When Your Life Depends On It You Can Take A Little Bit Of Haram To Save Your Life . Like If You are In A Desert And You Don't Have Any Food And You See A Dead Animal .You Can Eat Some Of It To Stay Alive. Allah's Knows Best?

spells in language can mean magic, but the Islamic spells(wich is not spells it's called ruqya) not a magic thing; rather it is recitation of the Quran and dowa wich we do like an example against magic and jinn. -------------------------------------------------------------- when the unbelievers of Quraish knew about Ruqya; they use it and add with it some form of shirk; so prophet Mohammed peace be upon him prohibited it ((because of adding shirk to it)), then he allow it (but of course he didn't allow shirk with it)

Dear Rob, Islamic Ruqyah and Black magic are not the same thing. 1. Islamic Ruqyah is done in the name of Allah, The Lord of the worlds. 2. Black Magic is done with the help of Jinn/Satan the accursed one. Ruqyah is allowed in islam, Black Magic is prohibited in islam.

This Rob shouldn't try to EXPLAIN any hadeeth or verses of the Qur'an based solely on the English translation. We have scholars who have studied the background and meanings behind them. The Arabic in the hadeeth is رقية Ruqyah. Among many meanings of Ruqyah are: spell, charm, incantation, etc... These are words which the Prophet ﷺ taught, which include Qur'anic verses, to use to protect oneself from any kind of harm or illness. The Prophet ﷺ had indeed initially prohibited these as the people were continuing with pre-Islamic traditions of Ruqyah which included unacceptable wordings, some amounting to Shirk. Therefore, people had been asked to stop using these. In the hadeeth in question, Saheeh Muslim 2199e, the Prophet ﷺ was asked by a man who had been bitten by a scorpion whether he could do ruqyah on him. The Prophet ﷺ had prohibited Ruqyah (since their traditional Ruqyah [incantation - spell - recitation to heal, etc...] included prohibited words with some being Shirk). The Prophet ﷺ then stated: "Whoever can benefit this man let him do so". So he permitted Ruqyah that is beneficial and allowed in Shariah, including using Qur'anic verses and not what they used to do and say. The very NEXT Hadeeth explains this: "Allah's Messenger. what is your opinion about it? He said: Let me know your incantation and said: There is no harm in the incantation which does not smack of polytheism." Saheeh Muslim 2000.
