You are like a real life protagonist from the movie Into The Wild, Kevin Supertramp. I have so many questions about minimalism and what you do in your day to day life. Earth like our mother, I appreciate everything this planet provides for us. I appreciate the voice you raise all over the internet. I hope you have a great days ahead!

get rid of the backpack and get a travel vest ala scottevest so now you have even less as you MUST wear a shirt anyway so why have the backpack as an extra possession? replace your current shirt/sweater with a wearable vest or hoodie with tons of storage.

There's something about the way you present your lifestyle that doesn't make me feel bad... I have the same values and am learning a lot from you, but I don't feel bad about myself in comparison. When I first started decluttering my stuff many moons ago, I was expecting uncover what really matters and who I really am... and I did, but there was trauma in the way. It sucked for a number of years. To anyone on this journey, be kind to yourself if this happens. Slow is smooth and smooth is fast.

I admire his lifestyle and dedication. if everybody lived this way, the economy would collapse. Nobody to buy most of what most people do all day to make a level. Makes you wonder what people would do instead. No a criticism. Or rather, a criticism of our economy.

if i could carry my bookshelves in my backpack then maybe i could be on his level 😂😅 but i suppose there are different forms of minimalism. like Konmari says how some categories of possessions will be smaller than other categories for diff ppl. but im also really drawn to this extreme level of minimalism. monks and hermits have lived this way since the beginning of time. one of the books on my precious bookshelf of prized books is Understanding Media by Marshall McLuhan, a brilliant man worth a listen.

It isn't for everyone. We shouldn't compare :P Well... There is only one Robin, and I believe he is doing the job well of which he came to do on this Earth ... He's the extreme example, but if we make even the smallest arrangements in our lifestyles, then we are still making change

many many peoples in asia and africa live their lives with approximately the same set of items. maybe there are a little more of items than the author, but peoples live just such a simple life because they cannot afford another. people in the west are putting on a show of a lifestyle that is the only one possible for billions of poor people from Africa and Asia. when "you" have an ultra-rich society around you, you can put on a show like this video. WHEN 99% of people around you live the same way as the author because there is simply “no money” - it’s not fun at all - at all! circus

Great video! I would sleep better if you put most of your money in a bank and carried a little cash and a debit card. Something seems rather disingenuous about this. Some people might want to go wiping their ass with leaves and thinking that tipping a bowl of rainwater over them is taking a shower - well it isn't! That said, I think there are elements of this lifestyle that many more people could implement - growing vegetables and fruit trees etc - they don't have to take it to extremes.

i am happy to realize that i have 100 times more items than you but have complete control of them so i am in complete control of my life. i use all the items i own and need so i am living a life of minimalism without depending on other people for things you refuse to own but need. owning a camera is a good starting point to show the world that you are willing to be independent for someone in your line of work. i mean you can own nothing if you lived with your mama right now. is it ok to borrow a shack from a friend if he is not your mother? these people let you live in their land because they own it by buying it and paying taxes for it annually. you are taking advantage of your friends’ resources and social resources that they belong to. own a house on a land and pay all the necessities and count them as your possessions and live minimally. a lot of people do that already. you just wanted to be original. even while using other people’s possessions. living with 50 items is easy. every homeless in the world do it. doing so while being independent is precious but you are not. you are just another homeless without calling yourself so. donating money and choosing to live without your own roof over your head doesn’t make you not a homeless.

@@oliviaphoenixpark7344 I'm not sure @tizmon does sound jealous, or toxic, or angry or sad, or were you referring to Bojan Barisic? If so, my error. Furthermore, it seems strange to insult someone and then put 'prayer hands' and a green heart afterwards. There is a sort of cognitive dissonance to that. Many of the points he/she makes are clearly valid. It would be difficult to support the elderly, the sick, or any children (or for that matter friends who do not 'have' a house but want to plug in their laptop), without having shelter, money, medical equipment etc. He does not have 'the police' as a possession, but certainly benefits from their service in terms of safety sleeping on trains, and, say, the fire department and schools in his country, that allow for his friends to have houses that are built safely. I respect his values, but I think there is an academically valid point being made by tizmon about the 'universalisability' of so called 'minimalism' - for example - think of the complex interdependent institutions that need to exist for the construction and design of his computer, and the servers and infrastructures needed for the internet. I'm not knocking the guy, but I'm not knocking @tizmon either - both seem to offer something to the dialectic.
