I don’t think it’s true after the first down tilt. You can see the boomerang animation starts to come out so if they did a jab they could get out of the combo.

The actual true combo only comes after the roll read, but that's fine because this video wasn't listed as anything other than a setup. They bait an escape option to kill young link even earlier than they otherwise would've. Edit: also the jab lock itself doesn't happen until after the fair connects and young link misses the tech
