Was Stationed in Treasure Island Naval Base from 1990 to 1993. I worked in Naval Dental Clinic and I was promoted to E5 and Became Sailor of Quarter during that time. Best Memories of my NAVY Career ❤😊🎉

I was stationed on TI in 1966, with 52 weeks of electronics training. Then again in 1968 for 48 weeks of advanced electronics training, then 4 years of instructor duty at the same school. Then, in 1973, while still living on the Island, I commuted to Los Altos Hills to attend 2 years of ADCOP at Foothill College. In all, my family and I lived on TI for 7 years in a new unit on Bayside Dr.

I was stationed in Treasure Island in 88-90 Working for the Transient Personnel Unit and In 94-96 working at FISC/NSC Oakland. I have attended fire fight school here (both the old one and the new one) The island some breath taking views of the city of San Francisco, the Golden Gate Bridge, the Bay Bridge, Alcatraz, and Angel Island. I sure do miss it over here, had some great times here.

Thank you for making this episode. I attended UNREP Hydraulic school onboard Treasure Island in May-June 1994. I still have my command ballcap; it's the only one I've kept, and I treasure it, if you'll pardon the pun. I've always wanted to revisit the island, and San Francisco in general.

Lieutenant Commander Philip Francis Queeg and his three steel balls stood trial in the Command Center for the Pacific Fleet. At one time The Treasure Island Chapel had a name, maybe something about a flower and the word 'sea.' The empty barracks were just finished when my time in school was winding down. Students on the first floor had water seepage coming in due to the weight of the buildings on the island landfill. Something to consider if any large sky-scrapers are planned for the future. The entire chapel area was a beautiful garden, but when I visited it in 2001 most of the rich landscape had been ripped out. I thought the larger open spaced buildings were hangers for aircraft, maybe blimps and Coast Guard training.

How is it living there? My boyfriend might be sent there to do some work next year (rebuilding water tanks) and we are wondering about living arrangements while there. Would he be able to bring his trailer there? It's in Petaluma now.

NOT A WORD on the ongoing cesium 135 contamination still in the gnd below topsoil. This is old stuff now late 24. Go to Substack to find the truth of the negligence. Still there is 3 spots where the "cleaning exercises" were executed w real live isotopes.

If you actually listen to what's being said here, there's no proper substance. Every time you think you're going to learn something, the dialogue gets reduced to ".....fun, play and party!" How many times do they have to mention the view of the city, whilst glossing over the Navy's extensive history in a few sentences. It saddens me to hear, supposedly mature adults talking like small children.

Worst video ever you should tell about all about the bad shit here to that the place was close for a little bit because they found radiation in the dirt and that the town is a ghost town ..
@orlandonunez80967 жыл бұрын
Sho Thao it’s not a town. It’s a neighborhood of San Francisco. & they are taking care of all the radiation by cleaning and replacing a lot of dirt. And a lot is being treated.
And basically treasure island was made because of all the garbage they dump in the ocean and if an earth quake even happens again goodbye treasure island
@heli-crewhgs52855 жыл бұрын
Sho Thao Garbage dumped in ocean?! You need to explain that rather better.

Heli-Crew HGS I live on treasure island and what he is saying is correct. The island is man-made from shipwreck and landfill/trash. There is no proper foundation or bedrock beneath the island, rendering it rather weak.
@californiamade56083 жыл бұрын
No it’s not. It’s made of bay mud. Some of it is from neighboring Yerba Buena island, during the construction of the bay bridge tunneling.
