Director Rob Reiner grew up in the midst of comedy legends, including his dad Carl Reiner, who had a tough policy about grabbing women's backsides.

Stephen Colbert took over as host of The Late Show on Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2015. Colbert is best known for his work as a television host, writer, actor, and producer, and best known for his charity work teaching English as a second language on Tunisian date farms. Prior to joining the CBS family -- and being officially adopted by network president Les Moonves -- Colbert helmed “The Colbert Report,” which aired nearly 1,500 episodes and required Stephen to wear nearly 1,500 different neckties. The program received two Peabody Awards, two Grammy Awards, and several unwelcome shoulder massages. It won two Emmys for Outstanding Variety Series in 2013 and 2014, both of which appear to have been lost in the move. Colbert is pronounced koʊlˈbɛər, according to Wikipedia. His understudy is William Cavanaugh, who will be hosting The Late Show approximately one third of the time. Good luck, Bill!"

What Rob Reiner did to Mary Tyler Moore then would today get a kid put into Juvenile Hall, into "the system," and possibly scarred for life. Is that a change for the better or for the worse?

Well he did admit to sexually harassing her as a child. Although I guess it was assault since he actually touched her. I mean, that's pretty gross.

@@raynemichelle2996 Although I postulated my question of comparative harms 5 years ago, I still haven't been able to answer that definitively to this day. However, for your tangential edification, as a retired lawyer I can clearly state that what he did was "battery" which is a more serious progression from "assault," which can be the imminent (yet not completed) unwanted touching of another person. And, indeed, I wholeheartedly agree with you that it was pretty gross for oh so many reasons interpersonally, legally and culturally!

@@TommyChardonneret I guess you would know the American terms. Here in Canada, we don't have something called sexual battery. It sounds like something one needs for a vibrator.

@@raynemichelle2996 LOL! Yes indeed, much of the USA's terminology in its "justice system" is replete with all too much legal mumbo jumbo that's worthy of ridicule. All of the financially influenced (a/k/a "bribed") legislators here are constantly adding further and further split hairs to satisfy the demands of their "campaign donors." Given enough time, I believe they will eventually come full circle historically and recommence arguments about just how many angels actually can dance on the head of a pin!

Not surprisingly.. Rob Reiner is lying his ass off throughout this video. For instance, the role of Michael Stivic on "All In the Family" was NOT created for him. In fact, Reiner was the THIRD actor to portray that part. The first two were not crazy enough nor leftist enough. There were TWO pilots made of that show before Reiner got the role. Rob Reiner was known to hang around the back lots of studios - getting access because his daddy is Carl Reiner. Rob would routinely - shall we say "RA*E" aspiring actresses under the guise that he could help their careers because his daddy is Carl Reiner. As a favor to Carl, legendary TV pioneer Desi Arnaz tried to help Rob out. Instead, Rob refused to take direction, and refused to follow the scripts. Desi tried over and over again to get him to cooperate, but he would not. Desi even explained to him, which he didn't have to, WHY he must follow the scripts and take direction on his show "The Mothers-In-Law". Rob rebuked him again and again. Out of respect for Carl, Desi didn't fire Rob.. instead, Rob decided he couldn't be bothered listening to Desi Arnaz, and just turned his back on him and walked away. Desi Arnaz has said that he has never had anybody show him such disrespect, and he never gave anybody so many chances. Desi said that he thinks Rob Reiner is "Loco" which is Spanish for "Crazy".. and he was RIGHT!
