HAD to be for the storage room episode with just him & Carroll!? If so, if you've ever seen it, slam dunk Emmy worthy. Checks every box. One of his best on the whole series. The writing, flow, timing of subtle dramatic & comedic timing/acting. Amazing.

All in the family was a hell of a show and Reiner did some outstanding work out there in front of those studio audiences. Back in the day when people didn't have such thin skin and would laugh.

This was Emmy Awards Show that was interrupted by a major news story. The Camp David Accords were signed that day and all the networks preempted programming for this story. And you have to remember in 1978 there was no cable news to attract viewers. The interruption lasted 30 minutes and as a result the show lasted over four hours(three and a half hours for the awards)

At some point in the first season, Rob wore a small hair piece since his hairline started receding rapidly. The hairpiece gradually grew during the course of the show as Rob lost more hair. In the first few episodes of the first season you can see his natural hairline before the hair piece and it's clear he had a combover to hide it early on.

never liked his character, overacting and poorly presented, dramatically...AIF could have done better choice cast; him and Gloria were as dull as Will and Grace, but Mrs Stapleton upstaged them all anyhow. The show itself was avantguard and brought novities on many fields. bravi tutti.
