This is completely accurate. He has no idea how to write, and for some reason feels that making every character use a disproportionate amount of profanity somehow GIVES them character. IT DOESN’T. It just sounds infantile and has no impact at all. Also, (like nobody knew this was coming) he needs to stop casting his untalented wife in everything he does. I don’t know whether she withholds oral gratification unless she’s cast, but either way she does not need to be ever seen on screen again in anything.

@carloszestyboy2901 Жыл бұрын
Nah. What made MM scary was that he had a loving family and a normal life but still became completely evil, whereas most serial killers have extremely ducked up early lives. RZ just took the character, gave him a trailer trash hillbilly upbringing, and then made him into a generic, hulking killer.

@chrish5163 He sure af didn’t have the trailer trash, cousin Cletus upbringing that RZ’s did. The house in the OG was nice and large, kept up as was the neighborhood, and it can be inferred that the family wasn’t poor at least. Also yeah, that’s the point of why MM has been such a lasting icon. Good horror knows that less is more. Take Lovecraftian horror for example. The scariest part of a godlike being using people as pawns or food is that you don’t really know much about it. As soon as you show the villain, the fear of the unknown is gone.

I think his vision for the Halloween franchise was great. It was the beginning of the non supernatural Michael movies, but i love how he still used him brutally. Both his movies were great, but misunderstood to some or most i should say. I loved how they brought out his entire origins story then killing his family without remorse. It's like he just let's their victims drag out to die or brutally stabs them to death slaughtering them all. That's what i love about Rob Zombie's version. He shouldn't be upset at all about making them. They're just different. It's like Friday the 13th 2009.

I’m such a big film critic but honestly when it comes to slashers….im really not picky. Do i think Rob Zombies halloween movies are oscar worthy masterpieces ? lmao no….of course not. But they’re fun. and he made Michael Myers absolutely, shit your pants horrifying, which is all i ask for in these type of movies.

I loved his Halloween movies imo. Just felt raw and nitty gritty. Yes I love the older halloweens, as does everyone. I grew up watching them with my parents every Halloween night. But these movies weren’t that bad Sheesh lol. Never realize how much hate it got.

I didn't really understand what's the takeaway of this. Is it that he was able to make his own, unfiltered, raw vision of Halloween but Bob hated it, so he felt terrible the whole time, or is it that the bad environment and pressure made him not be able to make a decent movie (and get his true vision out) in the first place?

I'm somewhat relieved to hear he was as miserable making it as I was watching it. I still for the life of me can't figure out how it ever got greenlit for a sequel, it was truly horrific, and not in the intended fashion. The scary part about the originals were that Myers was a mystery, a ghoul, a boogeyman - nobody cared nor wanted his back story other than the opening scene and everything that was given after to us was exposition from Loomis. The better horror villains leave most of the backstory to the viewers imagination, and you rarely see their face IF they're a masked killer. They made the same mistake with the Nightmare On Elm Street remake. The Friday 13th wasn't as terrible as those two, but still unnecessary, and the less said about the recent Hellraiser the better, the same goes for Childs Play, the new Exorcist, the later Evil Dead films (the first remake was fairly good.) On the plus side, there's not many left they can remake and butcher, unless they plan on remaking remakes.
@LarryHazard Жыл бұрын
Doing his own version of Michael Myers that had almost nothing to do with the original was what made it interesting, what made it less interesting was the half of the movie that was an actual remake of the original. Remakes in general don't make much sense so doing a different version is better than remaking a movie that never got old in the first place
@judgegrinch1139 Жыл бұрын

At least I can still trust Japanese cinema to make solid scary horror and supernatural psychological horror. I mean, American horror isn't bad, and I recently watched The Autopsy of Jane Doe with Brian Cox and I thought it was solid and well done. Not too many jumps cares, but a whole lot of subtly scary scenes that build that fear in you, the viewer, as you're watching it. It's not a perfect movie by any means and it does have some goofy scenes that made me and my mom, who watched it with me, laugh at, but it was still well made.

This guy seems like a cool guy to hang out with! Entertainment execs are all pretty much like that. Everyone's ideas suck unless it makes money and then they take credit for. When something flops it's the director or actors faults.

The only thing I liked from his remakes was the first 40 minutes of the first one, the way he showed the evil of Myers by playing out the relationship between him and trejos character was really well done, and the scene in the bathroom stall afterwards just was gold😂 makes me laugh everytime.. the rest was meh to garbage

It’s crazy to see so much hate on his Halloween films. I like his Halloween films the best out of the whole franchise. 1 and 2 were amazing. Especially part 2. The way Rob explored Laurie’s trauma (especially in the directors cut) was really cool to see. I like that he did his own thing instead of trying to be a carbon copy of the original. I thought both films were amazing

Having anyone come in to do any job then ignoring them is disrespectful. The guy was Oscar nominated, he deserves a seat in the room. Even if you resent him being there, it's not his fault, give him some respect and at least let him in the room with you. This all sounds like a red flag for the dumpster fire that would be every single choice Rob made while making the Munsters.
