One of the interesting things of VoH is that Neyrelle is going to the Vault of Light aka Tomb of Akarat, the founder of the Zakarum religion. The Tomb of Akarat might ring a bell as that's the objective of the Crusaders' quest, and I believe there's dialogue and lore in D4 suggesting it has still never been found. It does seem to be a really big fail to *not* have the Crusader in this expansion both due to the demand and the lore, but finding the Tomb, and perhaps even Akarat himself in the Spirit Realm, will likely help set the stage for the missing Holy archetype class in X2.

Because lore wise, there's no connection to holy magic. Plus, they said early on that the classes they'll be introducing will be new and original classes never seen in the franchise again.

@@silvera-00 That would be like going to Vatican City and saying there's no connection to Catholicism there. Nahantu is the historical headquarters of the Zakarum faith, aka holy magic. Just because a game director decides to do something doesn't make it the only option they could have done, or one the playerbase has to agree with, see them wanting us to grind out Altars of Lilith and Renown every single season.

It was Tal Rasha with Mephisto's soulstone in first D2 video, Baal first appeared in game in Lord of destruction expansion from second D2 video. Harrogath and mount Arreat are in your third outline, so don't expect Baal soon if his appearance is tied to same places as before. , Same for Lut Gholein, we were fighting Duriel there who is already in game, so expectations of Diablo are in danger too if we bind to historical locations, I hope not.

Neyrel is as good as dead , she’s serving the purpose of a host in the same regards Leia was in d3 for Diablo . When prime evils come back to sanctuary they need a host . Always do

I know that everyone is always stating that a new class will come with the expansion but I want to point out that it isn't unprecedented for a character to release just by themselves (Necro for D3 didn't release with an expansion, just a character pack). It might make sense financially for Blizz to do that again. They sell the new classes and expansions separate so they're kind of doubling up on things to sell.

Cancelled the 2nd expansion for d3. Old school blizzard CEO before he left the company got them to release Necro and kanai cube as its own dlc pack. Necro was supposed to be with expansion...

We started with Lilith, Daughter of Hatred, as the instigator of the story, moving onto Mephisto as the next primary evil force (of which I'm guessing Neyrel pulls a Frodo and succumbs to Mephisto's influence at the finish line, whether she survives is up in the air). However, I don't see them going to Diablo next. So far we've had a Diablo game without the title character himself, and unless there's a final act twist, I don't see Diablo being the middle Prime Evil with Baal as the story conclusion. Either Diablo is going to be the finisher, or the final act is going to feature a new big bad. Makes me wonder with the apparent narrative focus of "Heaven is no better than Hell" that Diablo 4's story seems to be pushing if Heaven itself becomes adversarial. After all, as other people have pointed out, where is Tyriel, the new Angel of Wisdom, and one of humanities staunchest supporters, during all this? Now, since everybody is so obsessed with Paladin being introduced into Diablo 4 to the point that it sounds like there'll be riots if that's not the next DLC class, I'm now more interested in what sort of classes might round out the next expansion or two after, guessing which regions are going to be next. It sounds like their intent is to introduced either new or returning classes that fit the regions, so what does that leave for clues on classes past the Paladin that they're surely being peer pressured into making if that wasn't the plan already?

I hope there will be some nice twists surprising stuff in the story. Wonder what Neyrelle become will she be corrupted or can she be saved? Will we see a kind of twist with her like in D3 with Leah (Mephisto consumes her soul or revives one of the prime evil somehow involving her?) or would it be too much the same.. How will the angels appear and I wonder how Diablo and Ball comes into the picture in the end.

i actually think we are not going to kill mephisto in this exp he might be last boss but he will stay alive until the last exp where he confront us in the end as the begining and that battle gonna be the biggest raid we see in d4 :D

All long time diablo fans know the soulstones never could contain the prime evils. They seep out and corrupt over time and when 1 gets loose, they always free their brothers. She was doomed from the moment she imprisoned mephisto and took the stone.

... They really can't... We already fought all of the great evils combined in Diablo 3. And it wasn't only Diablo, Baal and Mephisto. It was the PRIME EVIL > ALL 7 combined in the black soul stone + Andariel, Duriel, Belial and Azmodan. And the nephalem was still stronger.

But, i'm 100% sure that we will kill Diablo in the old tristram cathedral (to conmmemorate the 30th anniversary of diablo... 2026) So... the last or, the next expansion later VOH, i think will be in Khanduras and skovos isles

Baal isnt the prime prime evil lol but I do think without a doubt they save diablo for last his the most powerful and most cunning. I think a lot of people forget, after you kill Adria in RoS she tells you shes put things in motion to revive diablo because he already had a contingency plan for if the nephalem best him in heaven. Diablo will for sure be the final boss, there just wouldnt be a reason to have your namesake AND the most powerful of the prime evils not be. I think the question is how will they set up the ending for the next installment.
