all his build only work with greater affix , dont trust his buid, you will never even come close to match the power of his build if you dont have the same tempering rank like his and greater affix , these build is not accurate at all for normal affixe

@@frenchyfrenchsilver1331 I mean, isn't that a self evident statement? Of course GAs and max tempering is going to be needed to reach high Pit levels and Uber boss clears. Same for the Uber uniques required in the build. I've been running the build without Uber uniques and with only some GAs and mid level tempering, and although I'm not able to clear super high pits it is still clear that mechanically the build works well (albeit it's a bit slow for my tastes).

PSA: I am running 2 barbs, only direct bash and one bleed using Robs exact build with Ubers and heavy handed + bash ranks. My bleed is finally matching direct damage as 3800 crit, 400 vuln, 5 extra Bash ranks, 4 heavy handed, 65% crit. It’s about dead even 2 to 2.5 mins clears on pit 90. I really recommend doing direct damage bash until you have pretty crazy gear, it is also waaay easier and cheaper to build. Rob confirmed he has not tested bleed bash with more average gear. Hi did someone have the same problem with the hota bleed build ? Rob says bleed ticks twice a second but on console on my barb it didnt ticks twice only once Console player should hit the trainings dummy and watch if they have the same problem (missing 50% bleed damage)

I was using rupture and it seems to just deal the damage in a wierd way. Instead of just depleating the bleed bar as instant damage, it instead first deals an instant damage (in the non-bleeding portion of the hp bar) equivalent to the bleed bar, and then it fills the bleed bar up. But the end result is the same as just depleating the bleed bar. I might be wrong though >*shrugs*< (if "===" regular hp, "----" bleeding portion) What I think it should be doing (1st case) boss bar | ===========---- | cast rupture | |

Triple GA gear is not required, but the absolute worst thing about this build is the need to get double or triple crit masterwork rolls on crit chance and bash temper, which requires an insane amount of farming, gold, and luck. This something he didn't seem go into much at all.

Big Thanks for all the Details! One Question, in your Guide you say that we should Temper Critical Strike Damage on the Amulet, Ring, Bludgeoning Weapon and one of the two swords. Actually there is no "Critical Strike Damage" for Barbs in (Berserking Finesse - Offensive). How did u get Critical Strike Damage on the Items? Can u tell us please!

you have to roll a rogue and get the recipe and then u can forge it (even though you cannot use the gear) - i rolled a rogue last week for it, however the recipe was not dropping so you gotta farm a while on the rogue as you will want the legendary recipe (not sure it's worth it but hey ho)

I have grandfather and shako and switched from your iron skin starter to hota bleed pit push. Don't have best gear but I think decent. After switch I make a shit ton less dmg and I die I seconds. I have all the tempers right and I think about 90% affixes are right and decent. But why do I make so much less and low dmg? With iron skin starter I made about 20-30 mills second wise and sometimes up to 70 million. Yet with bleed I attack slower, run slower an make 5-10 million dmg with sometime up to 20-30. What am I doing wrong?

Thanks for this build, Confortably cleared Pit 100 with bleed build (Only The Grandfather, no Shaco) 2.2k crit dmg, 70%crit chance, 250% vulnerable dmg, 210% Berserking dmg, 63k life (no buffs, no elixir) res cap + armor cap. my overall build is fine but I have a semi-bricked ring with "+ dmg while warcry is active" temper.

You might have to make a follow up after next week mid-season update, which will eventually change some things making some options better/worse compared to what you described in this video. Personally, despite being an uber casual, I really enjoyed the depth you delved into, really gave me a lot of insight. The only kind of doubts I'm left with is... stupid doubts. Stats priorities. You already listed the affixes you should aim for for all gear in the D4 planner you shared. But while it's clear the ideal is what you listed, what's the next best option? Simple example: For the Amulet the affixes I want are Crit Chance, Cooldown Reduction, Heavy Handed ranks. Let's say I can't get Heavy Handed, what's the next best option? (probably attack speed, but I was just trying to make an example). Same thing for tempers. Imposing Presence is probably mandatory, but for the other one we have options. Damage to Close enemies is the best, but if you can't get it, what's the best option? Just Damage? Crowd Controlled damage? (everything stunned or hit by challenging shout is probably considered "crowd controlled" right?)

Rob, I have everything here as close as I can to your build but I'm not getting the bleed numbers even close to yours. What is the most important things to look at for the big bleed numbers?

Everything in the build scales off of each other. You need your bash Cleave to be double or triple master work critted (25%). That makes your Berserk ripping aspect do more damage at the base level. Then you need high crit damage to make Gushing Wounds 140x multiplier hit harder. You also need vulnerable damage so your Hemorrhage (legendary paragon) multiplier goes up. For example Rob is getting 60%x more bleed damage to vulnerable enemies from Hemorrhage. To put it simply: His bash does a fuck ton of damage, berserk ripping scales off that, gushing wounds and Hemorrhage multiply that and you end up with a ton of bleeding damage. Holy Bolt elixir, plus Ranks to bash,war cry and heavy handed make big difference too, but the above explanation should clear a little confusion on why his numbers are so large.

@@Bherby it's actually insane how much this build seems to scale with higher stats, because everything is multiplicative to each other. I think I got pretty decent gear with half the items masterworked to 12/12 and the rest between 8/12 and 10/12. I have 64% crit chance, 3635% critdmg, 395% vulnerable dmg, +4 Bash and +4 Counteroffensive, so definitely lower in all aspects. However, when I am on the target dummy I only get my bleeds to around 120-150kk ticks compared to his 600kk ticks, so only around 1/5-1/4 of his dps with all stats a bit lower.

Hi Rob, can i ask how you get double bleed & dmg hits per bash? at 10:00 i see you hitting the dummy and each Bash hits twice and then the bleed also goes off twice. But i copied the build exactly but when i hit the dummy my bash only hits once and my bleed is only there once aswell. What am i doing wrong?

Hey Rob is there anyway you can raise awareness to Grandfather being bugged; it loses out on masterwork because it upgrades “durability loss” affix that no longer exists in that Uber. A lot of people in my circle getting screwed on that and definitely it needs some attention.

Interesting. I have reasonably good gear and ran 95 pits in under 4 minutes with the speed hota version without any problems. After the video I switched to the blood version because I already had everything ready and had already created a hunter for the temper recipe. Well, I expected something completely different. It takes me 3x longer than before and I don't do the ultimate tick of damage in higher pits. I also lost 20k+ life. I'll probably switch back to the speed version. That was more fun after all.

I built this build and it feels like I cant hit the insane numbers he's hitting. I have 4k crit damage 400 vuln damage, have bashing cleave on my weapons and even the damage while berserking. i went from Dustdevils>Hota (Paingorer)>Bleed (craft The Grandfather). shaco is good but u can play any build without it, without the Grandfather u can't play Bleed build, so that's why I opt to go for The Grandfather first. Great guide Rob, as always;

Hi Rob, I did some testing early on in the season to figure out how GW was actually scaling, and it looks to be scaling off of your RAW CSD% from gear/paragon (not the 4000-ish% percent in your sheet) as follows: GW_multiplier = ( 1+rawCSD% ) * ( 1 + 50%*140% ), which boils down to ( 1+rawCSD% ) * 1.7. (the 1.7 bit is a leftover multiplier from after the CSD rework which was the only part of the above equation that worked in S3 for instance, which was why GW sucked as it didn't scale off of CSD% at all, just a constant 1.7 multiplier). This means if an applied bleed ticks for 100 dmg, a crit through GW would tick for: 100 * ( 1+rawCSD% ) * 1.7 If you have CSD multipliers like for example HH, grandfather or 2H mace expertise (x15% CSD while berserking), those multipliers are multiplied on the above formula like the following example for 3/3 15% HH and 100% from grandfather: GW_multiplier = ( 1+rawCSD% ) * ( 1 + 50%*140% ) * (1+15%) * (1+100%) * ... Also in general, I don't recommend using the total sheet values for calculations, they're misleading. Use the raw values from gear+paragon to base the math off of (the values at the bottom of tooltips when you mouseover a stat). @@Rob2628 Hey, just wanted to give a small update on the GW math I posted up above. I went back and looked at the original data I posted above, as well as doing some more GW testing for the Cleaver glyph and Grandfather (cleaver doesn't affect GW btw). I don't know if my original data was simply lacking somehow (most probable explanation) or if blizzard hotfixed the GW interaction early on in S4, but as of writing this, GW might be one the most literal abilities in the game right now as the interaction is simply: When causing an enemy to bleed, you have a chance equal to the "Critical Strike Chance" stat in your statsheet to increase the bleed by an amount equal to the "Critical Strike Damage" stat in your statsheet. It doesn't give two shits about general crit interactions in the game (e.g. conditionals like the phys crit against elites from Harrogath), if the two general crit numbers in your stat sheet do not change, it doesn't affect GW. I was initially a bit harsh on Rob's usage of the statsheet CSD, mainly because almost every bit of math in the game doesn't use those numbers, it uses raw values, and tooltips in-game are updated without taking other stat interactions into account which is misleading. As it turns out the simple answer was the correct one here, and all the hoop-jumping with equation fitting was a waste of energy and misinformation from my side.

The only reason Ive found to play with 2h Sword tech is when speedrunning with Rage of Harrogath! The cooldown reduction with that combo is so insane, making sure all shouts are up almost 24/7 when in combat which is rather fun!

Hey rob, my barb hota bleed only deal 170million dps bleed max, can't reach a million higher. What do you think I miss ? Is it only the crit dmg and vul ? sitting at 4000 crit dmg and 400 vul with 11 rank of dmg cry, 15 rank on bash. My bash only deal 40-55million also.

Same problem, something is off. 4.1k crit dmg, %72 crit chance, %421 vul, %30 blood rage 1.6k str, even got rank 15 bash and doing 140m bleed per tick

I’m rocking an upheaval overpower and bash build leveling right now. First character I’ve ever had that I can do higher dungeons than my current level. I’m level 75 barb and can do high 70s dungeon low 80s solo. At level 74 I did a dungeon with a friend who’s higher level and I was able to split off in a two person level 87 dungeon by myself

Hi Rob! Great content as always. I noticed at 7:05 when you hit the dummy your bash hit twice and you got two separate bleed ticks. What is causing this? Whenever I try this, I only get one bash hit, one bleed. Been scratching my brain for hours. And yes, I have bash cleave on all the weapons.

@@deezanutta7919 the most I can get the bleed to tick for is 20m. My crit damage is 3.2k, vulnerable about 350. I have all the aspects, including grandfather and shako. I dunno, I'm starting to think that maybe I've used the wrong paragon board. I'm using the Pit variant of the build and wonder if maybe there is an issue where the paragon board for a different variant of this build is showing instead of the correct one!? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

About capping ress. I don't think having a roll on piece is enough (at least it was the case for me). You either need it to be GA or good roll with 12/12 masterworking on this item. I'm also curious about... how much life do I need to be able to tank all Pit ghost's mechanics (on the boss) assuming my resistances and armor is capped? It might be hard to answer but I get 1-shotted with 85k+ life in 90+ pits. But good and detailed vid. Thank you.

Hey man , great video , i just have one question i cant figure it out. How are you getting 2x bleed ticks on the training dummy? i tried everything i could think of , standing further away, standing close as i can get and i still cant get 2x bleed ticks? :( help would be greatly appreciated Apparently even when you bash normally you have 2x hits on the dummy in the video, but i cannot get 2 i only get 1 set of numbers resulting me in hitting only once per bash. Rarely get any big bleeds on boss even when fighting for 2 mins. Aspect on 2h, berserk up 99%. Got about 3k cd, 65cr, 250vul. Copy pasta on para some small changes to skills as was suggested in the vid. (I do get the big bleeds, but maybe 1 every bossfight) Double killspeed with ramaladin setup (on Bosses) Any guesses of where im failing?

To level from 1 with bash, just use with charge and the explosions aspect when you kill them. CoTA can help on bosses. You will fly through to wt3 and 4. Especially if the base attack aspects are already unlocked

Hi! tried this build but not working for me. Got same items with same affixes. Maybe not perfect, but 4500% crit dmg and around 66% crit chance. My bleed hits are around 20 millions, or MAX 30. I don't know why. :s

Wow this was great. I was missing a couple of interactions but this guide really helped to clear up my questions. I have been playing the stone skin build with Shako and was trying to work out when to transition to bleed. After watching, I think I'll just go to the HotA build and see how that feels while I work towards getting the Grandfather. There are a couple of immediate things I can do to improve that I learned today - such as using the antivenin. Thanks for all the work you have put into this build.

Rob2628 , tempering question to your changes on the BARB. Prior to the patch most build were using on 2 1hders and some 2hders Marksman finesse - Critical Strike Dmg 62.5 to 85.0% for one of their tempers on each weapon. You have now changed the build description for temper on All non unique rings, weapon and amulet to be Berserking Finesse - Critical Strike Damage 62.5 to 85.0%. Berserking finesse - Critical Strike Damage 62.5 to 85.0% DOES NOT EXIST IN THE GAME. There is Bersker Finesse - Damage while Warcry is Active 62.5% to 85% But the description DOES NOT SAY IT IS CRITICAL STRKE. Warcry only states - Increase Damage (not critical) by 28.5 % why shout is active. Question 1 is Berserk Finesse the same = as Marksman Finesse or Damage while warcry = to Crite Strike Dmg of a rogue temper? If a barb uses a rogue temper, will it count? please advise.

Also, I think the problem with rupture is that it removes the bleed damage, and then does physical burst instead, which is mitigated by the physical resist of the mob. So, it gets damage reduced twice (once upon initial bleed, then again for the rupture burst.)

Bash cleave temper... makes the bash hit twice, once for the normal hit, and again for the "cleave". I believe it was supposed to hit the cleave only for enemys behind, not the original target, but blizzard said they wont change this in this season.

Tip if you have melted heart use it while leveling it makes you almost invulnerable while your reses and armor are low then obviously go for big damage amulet later when you got that life armor and res stacked properly

Thanks for answering all these questions, Rob! What I still don't understand is, does the fat tooltip crit damage number apply to the gushing wounds or the real additive number? In your explanation it sounds like the Grandfather [x] crit bonus would apply to the additive damage that is used for GW calculation, but it is known that it is in fact a total multiplier for any crit strike 🤔

Honestly, you should be using emeralds or sapphires to get that 10 to 1 Crit to Vuln. Also you want to get close to 300% dmg while beserking
