I used to go to the Hudson's Thanksgiving Day parade every year when I was a kid. My mother's office was in some building around 5 stories above Woodward. Everyone in the office would bring their kids and we'd have doughnuts, apple cider hot chocolate and all of that crap. And, the best part was that we didn't have to stand around in the cold with the riffraff lining the street.

I am trying to find video of the JL Hudson Thanksgiving Parade... Would have been 1977 or 1978... I was in the Fancy Spur Strutters baton corp. As world champions we lead the parade. I am pretty sure we were right behind the mounted police at the very beginning. I would love to find a few shots of that!

Here's something to think about: All of the kids with Oopsie The Clown are all in their middle ages now.

Yeah, wait a minute... is that old Sonny Elliot doing the commentary? I loved that glib bastard when I was a kid.

It is an original Betamax recording of the broadcast, and alas it was just this one year.

Such a shame that Betamax didn't become the commercial standard for consumers like it should have, but that's humanity for you.
