Evel was my hero as a boy and I wanted to ride bikes since I was 10 because of him. Its great to have his son follow on and use a proper bike for jumps but Evel was a class act. It was also good to visit Estes in 2011

This has to be the most American thing I ever seen. Lynard Skynard's Free Bird, motorcycles, fireworks, flags, fire, and a Kinevel jumping over cars 🇺🇸

Robbie puts on a great show. I've photographed him twice for a mag. As for the haters below - you try it. This takes the stuff that most of us don't have.
@LTR14208 жыл бұрын
Lol I know kids that are barely teenagers that do jumps bigger than this. Travis Pastrana and MANY others are 100 times the "stunt man" Robbie is/was. All Robbie has ever done is ride his fathers coattails.

Not one but TWO perfectly executed jump...hitting the landing ramp smack on the "X"....the 2nd one being a "no-hander"....a great show. Robbie once said...." I'm the best at what I do...only because I had the best teacher in the world." Robbie and his father had taken long distance motorcycle jumping, and made it an art form, surrounded by the core value of always keeping their word....regardless of the outcome.
@LTR14208 жыл бұрын
Lol please tell me you're joking. Travis Pastrana is the modern day Knievel. Robbie isn't even in the ball park with Pastrana or ANY professional motocross guys for that mattet. All he has ever done is ride his dad's coattails.
@thevmanvj8 жыл бұрын
FYI ....you pompous jerk...... Robbie or his father are NOT motocross racers....they were/are long distance motorcycle jumpers. His father was the first one to try it. Evel made it an entertaining art form....doing on a bike that weighed over 100 lbs heavier than today's MX bike with three times the suspension travel. Robbie is 53 years old and is still jumping in excess of 200-220 feet with regularity with a landing area about 8-10 ft wide.. Sure his equipment is better, but he faces the same fate and trajectory if he gets it wrong most of the time .......pavement. There's nothing in the world that compares to hitting the pavement from 30 feet in the air at 80-90 mph. You better damn well hand down some respect to both son
@LTR14208 жыл бұрын
I didn't say anything about Evel. Evel is a legend. Robbie is a joke. I don't care how old he is, he has never done anything innovative on a motorcycle. Who gives a shit if he was a "long distance jumper" only? Anyone that is a professional mx rider has 100 times the talent he has. Hell, he can't even control his movement in the air most of the time. He looks like your run of the mill goon every time he hits a ramp. Robbie MADISON is a true distance jumper and more. I'm not handing down respect because he deserves none.

madskrillz2. Exactly. People backlip farther than most robbies jumps today. Ive seen 14 year olds jump farther than robbie ever has out at pala.

I think lots of people don't realize how much altitude effects things. I never jumped or raced bikes but I was into hot rodding cars in the 80s & I live in New Mexico at 5,000 foot altitude. You lose 5% of your HP for every 1,000 feet altitude. That's huge, especially when you get to 5 or 6 thousand feet.

I saw Evel jump 14 buses at Kings Island when I was a kid. We got there real early and Evel jumped it twice! They moved the landing ramp up a little but he cleared all 14!..LOL!....The main jump he broke his bike in half!!...... but yeah You're right!...

@4touchdowns1game297 жыл бұрын
Edward Mynning no he wouldnt. Sports progress and it takes time. Thats how things work. Mx bikes have been pretty much the same the last 20 years and 20 years ago a heel clicker was cool. Now if your not doing a triple backflip bike flip you suck.
@mikeskidmore67546 жыл бұрын
This is not a very hard jump .. Now his Grand Canyon jump is Impressive.. 40' drop from one side of the canyon to the landing side no room for errors.. Travis Pastroma has done a double black flip years of practice into a foam pit.. Pastroma just broke three of Evils records in one year this year 4th of July Caesars Palace fountain Jump and he did it on a heavy 750 CC Indian Motorcycle similar to the Harley XR-750 but much more power .. Also really the most impressive jumps I have ever seen is Robby Madson from Australia .. The bar for jumping records has been raised to an insane level .. Evil will hold all records for attendance and pay for views some of his jumps are the most watched tv on record and a Mahoumed Ali fight .. Too many different forms of media today those records will never be broken ..

I wonder how much blow Robbie did the night after Eddie Braun completed his father's dream. It should have been a Knievel in that rocket, but Eddie is ten times a decent man more than Robbie will ever be (if he lives that long and doesn't OD or drunk drive into a tree.)
@rexspencer51077 жыл бұрын
I was thinking the same thing! Robbie should have teamed up with Bob Truax's son and built the X-3 skycycle and finished it!..I would have paid 100 bucks to watch on pay-per-view!....Robbie didn't have the balls!!
