Over a decade watching Diaz. This was the worst I have ever seen him. Insanely slow when it came to movement. Boxing looked good as usual but everything else. Yikes. I’ll hopefully assume this is due to the 5 year layoff but I’m unsure. Maybe another fight but I believe Diaz knew it was time to stop. Easy payday and see what was left in the tank but at 38 years old he looked like Father Time finally caught up. Enjoy training your brother and being cage side. I truly believe nick knows this is the end. If so. Thanks for all the wars. WarDiaz!!!!!

@@zack6892 a fighter that stays away to not get hit and barely has any offense themselves and wins rounds by doing just enough to win a decision. Or a fighter that is a good wrestler who takes an opponent down and just holds them without trying to finish the fight. That is fighting to not lose. GSP won a lot of fights by taking his opponent down and controlling them until the time was up.
@zack6892
@zack6892 3 жыл бұрын
@@moto-fl3rd I get it was mostly a sarcastic question but I totally agree with what you said. The problem I see is as long as wrestlers are protected by the rules for a grounded opponent we will just continue to see more and more dominate wrestlers. There just isn’t the same kind of protection for a striker so it makes sense that for a fighter only worried about their record they would have a very solid ground game.
@moto-fl3rd

@@zack6892 I don't have a problem with them wrestling, I have a problem with lay and pray. I'm not a huge Khabib fan but he worked ground and pound and submissions when he had an opponent down. I've seen some good MMA wrestling where they went back and forth and it was competitive and fun.

Thanks Robbie for a great fight and example of classy sportsmanship. Nick put on a good show. But you were the better man tonight. Best of good luck and health.

Lawler and Diaz were here before A LOT of these fighters ever set foot in a cage, respect to both their Legacies are each set in stone💯

A lot of people saying Nick looked old and slow. Well, that maybe but, after all that time off, coming into the fight clearly out of shape, he still left his mark all over Robbie's face and head. I'm sure if he really wanted it again and got back into training 100% he could be successful. However, if he walks away I think that's a good choice. He's proven how tough he is many times before. Time for a new stage in his life.

2 Bonifide Warriors, but it's definitely time for Nick to hang up the gloves. It looks like Robbie could fight again next week.

Gotta remind people that Robbie fought in the UFC since UFC 37. He is the longest UFC fighter currently. Ofcourse he did fight elsewhere in between.

Lawler is the sportsmanship icon, not only in the fighting sport, but any competition. I feel like this should be rewarded somehow.. Maybe with an annual award, and give them to Robbie until he retires, but then call it "The Robbie Lawler Award" for the years to come.

Lawler fought like Diaz usually fights, by pressing people to the cage and peppering them with volume. Really interesting.

Nick's boxing looked pretty good but he is too out of shape to compete in mma. He should try to get a boxing match with Jake Paul or Anderson Silva.
