This week on the pod it’s a Rob - off! Rob Brydon is invited into the home of music legend, Robbie Williams. Rob explores Robbie's early life as a singer in Take That, his supersized lifestyle and what big plans he has for the future: from a hotel in Dubai, to his love for art and creativity. Robbie also talks candidly about his family life and reveals that it was a bit of a guilty conscience and bumping into each other at David Walliams' birthday party that led him to ask if he could be a guest on this podcast. As if we’d ever say no…So, let us entertain you!

I saw Rob Brydon aged 11 at Edinburgh Festival, he signed a poster. He was lovely to everyone and I'll never forget it. He asked me if i was welsh because of my name and I just didnt know what to say but he was kind and funny.

The whole documentary was a misery fest! Robbie just looking back on his life with despair. I get he had problems but surely there were good times too. I think Robbie is a half empty kind of guy. Everything is doom and gloom with him.

Why is it that in this interview both people are talking normally, and their microphones are at least a metre from them, and I can hear every word. Yet in most podcasts there seems to be a need for the speakers to have their faces obscured by huge microphones and pop filters, and the mic is mere inches from their mouths. I wonder if it's just to flex that they can afford some high-tech sound equipment? edit: Just saw the lapel mikes. lol
