I think others are watching you because now I see people teaching to grow in tote bins, using kitchen scraps to fertilize in place and yesterday a couple doing what you did, finding leaves and sticks they find on the ground at the garden stores (they will ask if it’s ok) and take home for growing free plants. Things you’ve been doing for a while now. Your creativity, experimenting and out of the box thinking has kept all of us ahead of the gardening crowd! I always return to your channel to see “how Robbie does it” as you are or have and have tweaks to teach and lessons to share. Been following for about 5 years I think. So many make things more complicated and expensive when it’s not necessary. The proof is in the results. Thanks for all you teach us Robbie. Looking forward to learning much more with you!

❤️ I know, a lot of people come back to me and say hey, they’re copying you, that’s OK as long as the word gets out there that’s the main thing and most people know where so many of these people learned some of these things from. When I started growing in totes many years ago, and posted it, people thought I was crazy. Now there are totes everywhere, with the wonderful results to show by not just me, but everybody else that’s now growing in them. I have so much more coming. Thank you so very much and keep watching because I think you’ll be surprised at all the new things that I post, again thank you 😊 ❤️

@@marykerr4381if you cut them, put them in a "Debbie Myer" green box and store in the fridge. lettuce sprouts are a quick one. They can be ready in 5 or 6 days. How does it get any better than that! I like to eat microgreens as a snack. I cut and eat half a tray and a time. I tend to go a little crazy on growing and love to experiment. ⭐

It has been so cold here in Portland. East wind 48 mph with 12 degree temps. I covered my deck compost tote with a heavy blanket. I am hoping it will be okay. We have had such a miserable January. Silver thaw today. I can hardly wait for Spring!! Love watching your wonderful weather. BTW, I have been switching out my feeders for my Anna’s hummingbird. Poor little babies are so cold.i hope I’ve saved a few. One nearly sat on my arm when I brought out the feeder. They watch for me. ❤❤❤

A thought about Gary’s dry dragon fruit. Maybe try growing it flat.
@RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy
@RobbieAndGaryGardeningEasy Жыл бұрын
I could try laying it on it's side as dragon fruit will set roots from the Areolas or buds. That might work as the base may be dead. Unfortunately it was sold to me with very little green on it. You may have watched the other video where the seller convinced me it wasn't a problem. ( kzbin.info/www/bejne/nH7UoWyce7qDjLc at 8.23 min mark ) "Fool me once shame on you, fool me twice shame on me". I've tried a number of things for three months. I might try that first. The next step will be to cut it into small pieces and hope something will take. I am starting to have success with stem cuttings removed from the fruit. Thank you Cherie.

I'm loving your recap and how you're describing your various garden zones, then reviewing your plans for improving them for this coming year's harvest. A couple questions that came to mind re your fantastic bird garden as I'm trying to replicate here in Ramona. And I've watched your videos for at least a year now. You probably mentioned but I don't recall if all your larger shrubs are only in containers with the now large bushes covering them or are any direct ground planted? I've seen your demos of cutting large holes or even entire bottom out and sinking the containers several inches. Thinking of composting in bottom of hole, then sinking container on top and planting in that in your normal fashion. Here my gopher runs are 12-18" depth. Also same idea for fruit trees and vines. Particularly for your exciting "water to roots" method for deep watering my very hot windy summer microclimate areas. Thanks again for sharing your knowledge and experiences. They're very meaningful to me👍🥹❣️

GARY, l was in the supermarket the other day and saw some Paw Paws and l was wondering how I'd go growing them from seed, from those fruit, here in Vic OZ. Not so much for the fruit, but more for the tree, because I think they're such a beautiful tropical looking tree. ROBBIE, you could call that new garden The Dinner Garden or The Healthy Dinner Garden. Another great video ‼️ You guys are Champs. 💜 💜💚💜👍🐨🇦🇺

Paw Paws ( papayas ) will easily grow from seeds. Unfortunately they are frost sensitive. Our climate is similar to Perth. If you want to experiment I would try a couple of things. Plant then in pots and overwinter them out of the cold. Plant them against a North facing wall (Southern Hemisphere) and cover overnight. Obviously a green house would be perfect but not everyone has one. A related plant Babaco or mountain papaya looks and tastes similar, is more frost resistant and is grown in Victoria. I don't know how easy it is to find or what they might cost. As a kid I tried to grow Pineapples in Central Victoria. Didn't produce fruit but was fun to try. For the best chance spring would be the best time to start. Best of luck Gary.

I have an old saguaro that was a danger to our electric power lines. One year they wanted to cut the whole thing down. I couldn't bear that so I talked them into topping it. After a while it becamed diseased and was dropping arms again. I called the electrec company and this time they didn't want to cut the whole thing down and cut it in half. Don't know how long it will last, but it hasen't given up yet. It looks pretty good and still houses many birds.

SPEAKING OF !!!!!!!! I might start custom, one time, engraving , Garden Stick Labels ?!?!?!??! FOR THINGS we always plant right. Or "PERMIES", that, we keep season after season. RECYCLED , "Junk" metals of course yes YOU KNOW HOW WE ROLL hahahahha. But? An Engraved Metal stick label will outlast us all right right.
