pro video editing tip -- while recording when you catch that you need to make an edit, or remember to put in a link to something after the fact, CLAP YOUR HANDS ... it causes a big audio spike. Then when you are editing, look for your audio spikes and review the footage for the editing note you left to yourself from the past.

Fellow AL native here, glad to know we've got such a resource in our state! Love watching your process, many coaching videos overload the mind with so many thoughts, but we don't always get to see the coach try each. See the teacher remind themselves as they are actively throwing it. Learning it with each throw. Big ups Robbie.

Thanks for the video, and thanks for the honesty in your journey. If there was one thing I'd like to see come out of this video series it would be at the end, after you actually find out you crush to 500 ft, a video that summarizes different drills you can use to improve distance (like the one you used in this video).

Lizotte said something in a video about curling the disc into the pocket rather than pulling it. That's something I find helpful both for keeping the elbow up as well as not retracting the shoulder.

This is awesome Robbie! Especially love the supination tip. Coming from a baseball background, everything is pronation and I could never figure out why I would throw nose up no matter how hard I tried pouring the tea. Looking forward to trying it on the course!

As an amateur not at your level, the ones you said felt good and slowed down, the one thing I noticed that was similar, they were all a Higher Arm position than where you said "felt natural" it looked geometrically more powerful and had more precise angles. Much Love!

I would remind us all that there are several 950+ rated FPO players that can't throw beyond 400-450. There is a lot more to the game than raw distance and we all have weak and strong parts to our game and Robbie is very strong around the putting green where he gains a lot of strokes on people who can throw further.

I think you need to coil further with your hips. The old, "show your butt to the basket" addage. Your front foot is opening up before your throw, which kind of shows that the hips are open. Your throw happens with your weight most of the way over your plant foot, instead of more towards the center of your body. Try having your plant foot at less than 90 degrees (pointed back slightly), and feel like you are reaching out with the plant foot to then drop the heel and "squash the bug" so to say. The front foot facing inwards creates a tension that you can brace against when you pull through to create a harder whip. Otherwise, you get a baby swoop motion (like what I'm seeing here) and the disc gets a smooth, yet nose up release. That can be good for putters and mids, but for drivers you need that smash that comes from hitting the brace.

I think your biggest leak is not getting power from the legs. You dont get the push with the right leg to turn the pelvis. That last guy Nash on Overthrow watch his pelvis firing which pushes the trunk and shoulders. Your throw feels rushed and I suspect your inner feeling is to jank because you "need" some oompf to get distance. My biggest gain has come from bending my knees even before I start the run up. It gives me the cue to more drift into the plant and push of the ground into the pelvis instead of stomping down and stopping. Also getting some more meat on top of the disc and moving the thumb can do wonders getting the disc to curl in better and pushing up the elbow!

I found thinking about getting the elbow out in front caused me a lot of grip locking, instead, I thought about getting the disc in the pocket towards the right pec (since ur right handed) in doing so there is no where else for the elbow to go but ahead of the shoulder.

The soup or turn the key during the throw made my elbow soar. I did better with thinking of bringing the disc under the armpit.

I saw a clip from the Power DGA lessons, and in it, Simon Lizotte stated that “I personally believe that every single person has an effortless 400 feet in them”. Hmmm…

Sounds about right to me. I am 44, started 2 years ago with the dg and recently i reached consistent 390ft. And it is more and more effortless as i try to slow down. Still room for improvement.
